Creep Oh, Sweet Jesus. This was worth 77 bucks without anything else being thrown in. My God, Prince, please do "Creep" live when you come to Tampa. Make me feel tiny if it makes you feel tall, but there's always someone cooler than you. - Ben Folds

I was on Lotus last night and for the first time I saw Prince singing Creep. I absolutely fell in love with Prince all over again!! I was also wondering if you guys know what Prince is saying instead of I'm a creep, as in the original lyrics? He changed some of the lyrics around and he doesn't seem to be saying I'm a creep during the intense guitar part, but he seems to pause on the word and it almost sounds like he says liar. Can anyone help me figure out what he changed the word to on this part of the song? Thanks in advance

Don't like it. He took the ultimate self-depricating song about alienation and rejection and turned it into this Disney track. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

It's my understanding he changed the lyric "I'm a creep" to "You're a creep". I don't know that I'm absolutely correct about that though.

Pure quality version, but shame video quality isn't better. I'm hot and I don't care who knows it...I got a job to do.

I have to work 10 hours to make the entrance fee for this site, and I've got bills to pay. Guess I still don't get to watch Creep. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Stunning version.
A whole different take on the song than the original, which is cool, I don't think it would be cool to see him pretend to be Radiohead for a song. The dopey logic behind the changed lyrics is beyond me and i could care less. He played the shit out of this and tore it apart. I enjoy the original on a completely different level, I have always loved Radiohead and their soundscapes. If Radiohead ever covered a Prince song i would imagine, and almost expect it would not sound like your typical Prince song either. Its art, its all a matter of interpretation, and when all is said and done, if it knocks your socks off that's all that matters.

First of all, Prince's version of Creep gives me chills.
I think he was trying to make it interesting by switching around the "I's" for "You's", thus effectively changing the meaning of the song. That was interesting. BUT... I think if Prince would have covered the song with the exact correct lyrics, with the world watching him, it would have be bone shattering! Think about it... Prince - the ultimate "freak" according to many in the world - who is always overly confident and supposedly "arrogant" now singing the self-depricating "I'm a creep. I'm a weirdo", would simply have been AMAZING. He would have taken the song to an ENTIRELY different level. He would have personified the "creep". Of course, he only covered it live on one show. He could still make a recorded version with the correct lyrics and release it worldwide as a single and it could be the biggest hit of 2009!

So i thinks its cool he didnt step himself down into the part that people had pegged him as, and called YOU a "creep" instead, "wished YOU were special". I love it. wouldnt expect any different from the lil guy [Edited 3/27/09 16:59pm]

Agreed. He should release his performance of "Little Red Corvette" from that day. This was a mindblowing version with excellent guitar work and stunning vocals. i watch it every day, but want in better quality.
