Why did Prince choose those songs

To perform on Leno?

Dreamer obviously was a stunning performance and an equally good song choice, but the other 2?

In my opinion, he should have played Boom and Crimson & Clover. biggrin

I understand that. He's attempting to live up to his status of legend by retreading water he was way above to begin with. It's not for me, although I know others will appreciate it.

The problem is, you need hooks to sell a new album. Not the best way to promote Lotusflow3r.

If he performed Boom/C&C/Dreamer, viewers wouldn't have heard any "dance" songs.

I partially agree though, I though Ol School Company was a bad choice.

Yeah whats new... one of the many rock only fans of Prince's that don't want him to do all the other kinds of music that he performs so well

He performed those songs because they all would translate well to TV

Lets see.... you wanted only to see Prince the rock star not Prince the funketere, or R&B master. Like I said whats new?

Did you happen to notice how crazy the crowd was during that performance last night?

Prince is not just a rock guitar player.... I am relieved he didn't do Dreamer, C&C and Boom. There fans of other types of Prince music or that appreciate all the different kinds of music he does that would have been like WTF!

If you want to hear those types of songs only go follow a musician that does only that type of music. There are plenty of white ones out there that do

Its just getting tired with you folks

No, that's really not it at all. I just wanted him to play something memorable that people will want to hear again.

I see your point in him playing three rock songs, but No More Candy 4 U, for example, could have worked well in place of Ol' School Company.
