PrintableJust to add a different slant to this conversation that popped into my head, do you think it's possible that perhaps the reason that Prince may not have QUITE as many gay fans as straight fans may be because of the lyrical issue?
Let me explain: Many music fans appreciate being able to identify with the lyrics of the music they enjoy...Much of Prince's music has featured lyrics that have been pretty blatantly heterosexually-specific from a romantic or sexual standpoint. Do you think it's possible that perhaps a small percentage gay music fans may feel a little more removed from the subject matter? Just a thought. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The entire basis of this "theory," if it could even be called that, is that gay men and women are ruled primarily by their sexuality. Why is it that straights always jump to that conculsion?
