Prince pulled off a concise & dynamic performance on this first night of three, and now I really want this new album (and I dare say I’d be willing to walk the entire way to Target to get it). Everybody looked like they were having a great time. Tomorrow’s performance can’t come soon enough. Incidentally, Halle Berry looked like a chocolate creamsicle: A tasty treat.

Phantastique said: Wow, that was so not exciting. I am eagerly waiting to buy the albums on Sunday (do not have 77 bucks for the website), but that performance did NOTHING for me. It seemed forced and ... just not...I don't know... Blah!
I will still watch the next two nights, but I hope for A LOT better. never thought i would say he looked better than he sounded, but i was more impressed with his look. The song was a little just OK ---------------------------------
Funny and charming as usual

I actually thought he had on black sneakers at first. When the camera zoomed out, my eyes zoomed in on his feet. I saw those flops immediately. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

Still highlighting political failures and disappointment to redirect people to God's Kingdom... in any case that was Elisa Fiorillo??? Now if he had on his black heels singing that song, he could have came out doing the "pimp walk" and put a slight "dip" in it, all cool and isht, across the stage, because only Prince could pull that off.

Diggin' the song. Prince was funky and his hair was tight! Was that Elisa? Looks like she's been eating pretty well. Prince's feet must be tired i.e. the flip flops. And didn't you want a taste of Halle's chocolate box? Boy did she look deeelicious! God those hips and ass! __________________________________________________

That was a nice graphic. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

never disliked a P performance but was not feelin' this one. The guitar solo was ... well... nothing great. Threw away his guitar only to get it back (thought initially he was going to switch to the bass). Don't know what the point of that was. The band was tight.
Did he forget the lyrics at one point??? He sounded confused. Flip flops... just icky on any level. He should've just went barefooted. And definitely don't like the song on the album. Thought he'd jam it out live but no-go. Anyway, another night to reclaim a serious rock-romp.

There was just too much goin' on in that jam. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I thought he looked great (minus flip-flops) but I think the song sounds much better on the album than it did live. Even before I heard the performance, I thought it was an odd choice. Though, I suppose Dance 4 Me is the only remotely straight ahead choice from that particular disc.

The Prince performance was amazing. But back to that in a second.
Halle Berry looked hot. And granted, that comedian who was sitting next to her made things a little awkward and dorky, but by her not responding and not talking and rolling her eyes made her look very cunty. Back to Prince...

Question for those who were there...
Did he do any other songs AFTER the taping
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
The performance was really awkward, with the whole rapping and the harmonica guy. It did nothing for me, the only thing interesting was the eye liner.
The song just didn't mix for some reason, it was all over the place. The guitar throwing, the background, the backup singer, and the harmonica guy. It was too much. [Edited 3/25/09 23:47pm]
