I was thinking that too -- the one in the middle, right? Shelby was on our left. Who was the woman on our right? I didn't recognize her either. I wish he would ditch Cora & Josh. How ya gonna play bass and not be funky?

Was Elisa the blonde girl in the middle? I know the other two were Shelby and I think Marva King(?). Great performance, I really enjoyed it (even though it was too short, like always). I, too, was happy when Prince took off his shades. I thought to myself, "Oh good. Now we can see his pretty eyes". RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Wow, that was so not exciting. I am eagerly waiting to buy the albums on Sunday (do not have 77 bucks for the website), but that performance did NOTHING for me. It seemed forced and ... just not...I don't know... Blah!
I will still watch the next two nights, but I hope for A LOT better.

I'm underwhelmed.
His eyeliner was flawless, though. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Glad he sang "Old Skool Company"....like the part where he says "The White House is Black and we got to take radio back". Loved the performance. [Edited 3/25/09 21:57pm]

She usually looks a bit more slammin'.

I will still watch the next two nights, but I hope for A LOT better. I thought it was kind of a mess and that song didn't translate well on TV. Love the song, but this performance didn't do anything for me. [Edited 3/25/09 21:59pm]

For the record and those paying attention, there is absolutely NO reason for me to watch tomorrow night or Friday night!
He might do it tomorrow Hatrina....don't give up so fast..you know you want to do that chu'ch walk in front of your tv set if he sings it. I can see you waving your chu'ch fan and screaming holy jeebuses and hally hally looyah... (I'm just messin' with ya) [Edited 3/25/09 22:12pm]

He looked nice, and everything was cool....'cept for the flip-flops. I gasped in shock when I saw those. Great performance though. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

I actually thought he had on black sneakers at first. But for some reason, I could see Prince doing a "pimp walk" to that track, I love the song though. [Edited 3/25/09 22:16pm]

Well his constant "heaven you can believe in" is a bit of a swipe at "change you can believe in" and "nothing (in my neighborhood's) changed but me" is as well. Still highlighting political failures and disappointment to redirect people to God's Kingdom... in any case that was Elisa Fiorillo???
