Fine by me if the packaging is cheap! If it keeps the cost down, then it's all good!

Yep, that's what I saw at the listening party. No booklet was shown to us at all. But the lyrics & extra artwork will be on the site. Though I'm not sure if you can get to it without paying the full membership fee...

i'm guessing the lyrics book will be one of the "incentives" of joining the site. they don't want us posting full lyrics, so i guess they're protecting one of the site's "value adds" or something. shrug

It would have been interesting if Prince had released this in two different packaging types:

1. Cheap cardboard version for $12
2. Triple CD jewel case (like Emancipation) with booklets for $more

Wonder which one people would buy?

from the look of the preview on the television that was up on the beta
version of the site (until the leno performance replaced it) the site
itself IS the artwork. the covers are direct images from the 3D world
of the site. so there will no doubt be much more to it than just the
"static" images of the covers since you can navigate all through the
site/worlds.

if anything you're probably gonna get more than you bargained for on
the site in regards to graphics and lyrics etc. i just hope there is
a single focus point where you can download the entire albums and
the entire artwork/lyrics in one go instead of having to piece them
together as you find them by clicking on shit.

me too. i would still like it if the site was an "experience" or a bit of an
easter egg hunt but that shit gets tired with a quickness, lol.

so the albums should also be available for quick n easy, no fuss download,
artwork included as a pdf file.

that would be very cool. but we'll just have to wait and see. in the end
i just want the music.

Three albums of new material for only $12 yet people are still bitching because the case is cardboard instead of plastic? Are you serious?!?!? falloff

I swear people bitch about the stupidest things sometimes. lol Considering that his last few albums have been in similar packaging, I really don't see what the problem is or why anybody is even remotely surprised that it looks this way. For only $12, I really don't know what people were expecting because I was expecting the artwork (if any) to look much cheaper than this. Since I can't play the album packaging in a CD player, I really don't give a shit what it looks like? Seriously, for $12, he could have put all three discs in a ziplock bag and written the title on that baggie with a purple sharpie; as long as the discs play, I'm good. It's the music I'm paying for not the album artwork, but that's just me. Plus, he just released a whole book with nothing but photos of himself in it, so what's this need for pics in the album...just go and buy the book. shrug
