Everyone & Their Brother Has an Excuse

Or a reason for why Prince's music now is missing the mark and has a prescription always followed by how Prince will see the light and kick ass again.

Do you want the truth? Can you handle the truth? Because, I DON'T THINK YOU CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH.

Prince suffers from a lack of creative talent, simple as that.

This is evident by his lazy use of cover songs, oh gawd not another one, please. The man went from killing us with covers in concert to boring us like hell through the speakers.

CAN YOU HANDLE THE TRUTH?

Was Prince the genius behind Prince?

Or was it Wendy, Lisa, etc.

To find a similar example in another industry, look no further than M. Night Shamalayan (spelling). He has to do everything himself and the fact is, he's not that good.

Bullshit! Prince wasn't living in a vacuum then, but he is now. Prince back in the day, pre-ego-trip and flipped out, fanatical religious guru, was creating with a circle of artists which includes major input.

Prince could re-record "Newpower Soul" with 15 guest rappers and he still wouldn't reach the level of uninspired lack of creativity your boring, stereotype, troll-like posts suffer from.

Stop this trolling campaign please. No need to make so many threads about your dismay with Prince.

Ok he sucks now. We get it. Go back to class now, your recess bell rang.

This is a statement by a person who clearly has little knowledge of Prince's history.

1. Prince has always been on a huge ego trip.

2. Prince has always been a fanatical religious guru. Uh, is that some type of prayer in the title track to his 1981 album?

3. Prince always has absorbed/used some input from other artists in his fold. At the end of the day, it is the Prince show. Always has been.

Sure, but its one thing to be on an ego trip once you've just made it to being on an ego trip, living the "neverland" life for over 20 years.

Sorry, but reciting that prayer (which 9/10 people can do) is a far cry from the Rainbow Children et al.

3. Prince always has absorbed/used some input from other artists in his fold. At the end of the day, it is the Prince show. Always has been.

I seriously doubt this.

While his methods were a little too bad LSD trip for me, he makes a good point. Part of the reason P was so good was because of the musicians he surrounded himself with, those that actually challenged him in ways that we probably will never understand. Take Zappa for instance. Great musician, without a doubt. But later-life Zappa, when he was doing most of it alone compared to creative peak Zappa, when he was surrounded by extremely talented people.....conspiracy or truth?

everyone has said what i think near enough so, i think i will add a little extra...

M. Night Shyamalan is a genius. He's an extreamly deep and intelligent film maker, a breath of fresh air in a dying industry. Do you think the same about David Lynch who also does everything himself?....maybe this is also why your so far off point on prince too imo.

Hmm, not sure what you mean by this. I assumed that you were referring to Prince's "I'm badder than anyone else" attitude that he has had since at least 1980. The attitude which we, as fans, only really know through the media...not because of some personal belief you/we as fans might put on him.

Sorry, but reciting that prayer (which 9/10 people can do) is a far cry from the Rainbow Children et al.

9/10 (which I doubt) of people may be able to recite it, not many put it in the title song to a rock and roll album. Futher religious fun can be found in various Prince tours and albums from 1981 onwards. 2nd coming anyone? Not exactly secular. Nor was the Purple Rain tour.

I seriously doubt this.

You doubt that Prince is(and has been) THE singular creative force behind his own music at the end of the day? Um, okay...

The Prince bitching in this forum suffers from a lack of creative talent.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.
