This is the final straw.

This is not another bitch session. This is in response to what I see as being a steady disrespect of one's fans.

I am beyond tired of Prince's sue happiness. How many people can you sue before you alienate a population? Will Prince.org be sued because some posts reflect negativity? Is Prince using this site as a way to track down underground sites that idolize him? Should we concern ourselves with worry that his "lawyers" will attempt to destroy the individual that is a fan?

What about the crap we have endured from the club? How many sacrificed for an experience that may sour due to prosecution at the whim of the one they adore?

Is it not law across religious boards that one should treat others as he wants to be treated? Do you really appreciate being treated as "beneath"? Why are we left in darkness, only being provided tidbits of information to soothe when the base turns savage? When you make a promise to a friend, do you change the premise to fit your selfishness?

I can't believe this. After 21 years of being a Prince fan/fam, I have to wave good bye. I don't let my family members treat me with such disregard. So why have I allowed him?

Prince, really, are you a leader or a follower? The only following you seem to do requires a dollar sign hanging upon your ego.

To me well,I just Love Him and His Music and He's so Adorable and it's soo Exciting to see him Perform. Trust me I don't have Bootlegs so I don't have anything to feel guilty about and Prince can come here and see for himself. I like Commercial releases. Bootleg quality usually Stinks. I wonder how many you have? By the way.

There's a site called PaiselyParkVault.com ( http://www.paisleyparkvault.com/ ) The site offers reviews and/or information of bootleg recordings.

Go to the website and read the disclaimer. Read what Prince is doing.

Then answer me this: Would the guy be harassed if he provided contacts to the bootlegging companies?

To me, the disclaimer is very clear about the service of his site. Thus, that leads me to believe that we the fans are being penalized for Prince’s personal quest to destroy the major bootlegging companies.

Also, just an aside, I have a very sneaky suspicion that part of this problem can be traced back to Prince. There seems to be a flourish of bootlegs prior to his separation from Warner Brothers.

Very true. He leaked a whole bunch of things to people he knew would sell them/pass them on to bootleggers. A lot of the 1980-86 soundboard recordings on Sabotage came courtesy of a disgruntled sound engineer.

This is one dumbass thread. Prince has every right to shut down the Vault website. It is a website the specifically informs people about ILLEGAL recordings. No matter what your position is about bootlegs...the fact remains that they are ILLEGAL...and if he feels the need to shut them down, so be it. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
