Kind of surprised no advertising by Target yet

Am I alone? I figured they would have something in this week's ad about it coming out next week in order to get people excited. I don't know that they did the best job with advertising Cristina's latest. I guess it really doesn't matter if the album sells. Prince will make his money either way and it's not like he'll become a recluse and stop recording if it fails (well....the second part won't happen). Just thought it was worth mentioning.

I too am surprised that there hasn't been a peep out of Target nor have I seen the commercials that were taped. Do you think he is waiting for the drop and then will run the tapes?

Well, considering I didn't even know Christina had a greatest hits album until I walked into Target and saw it there, I don't think Target has a great track record with advertising music. I hope I'm wrong.

that's what i'm sayin.. who goes to target for music? in most targets the music is all the way in the back and doesn't even seem like a huge focus point for the store.

You're not the only one wondering. I thought I'd see some more stuff happening by now too. I'm still hoping I can see Prince/Target ads on the subways here in NYC like the Christina Aguiliar and John Legend CD were last year along with TV ads and print ads. We still have another week so we'll see. If there is a subway ad for the Prince CD's, I will take a pic and post it here immediately.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Same here. Commericals where she is running around in a superhero outfit and the backgrounds are red. They didn't really sell it other than that.

Yeah, but there music section often looks good and they do display the new releases well (and usually have commercials playing on the TV for new releases and exclusives). They are pretty well known for exclusive editions of albums and movies, too. They have little posers up as well for some new releases. They are better than most but certainly not the first place you go for music.

No need to worry.
Prince will be featured on the front cover of the upcoming Target circular, and the TV spot will be airing this week, and of course, during the Tonight Show.
If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.
