Which album had the best B-Sides?

I'd have to go for PARADE - Love Or Money, Alexa De Paris and those versions of She's Always In My Hair and 17 Days. worship

What do you think?

One of the latter ones that you mentioned above was a ATWIAD b-side, the other was a Purple Rain b-side ( When Doves Cry b-side ).
I would say ATWIAD. Great cover artwork, great extended versions and remixes, and all in all very interesting and solid music.

lol I know, thank you. But the inclusion of these versions of the tracks makes Parade the album with the best B-Sides in my opinion.

diamonds & pearls had some great b-sides, too. i still listen to "horny pony" and the maxi singles for "gett off" and "cream" were awesome.

Those were on the double 7" versions, or am I mistaken? I prefer those to the long versions, that's why.

I actually like 1999's b-sides the best...How Come U Don't Call, Horny Toad, Irresistable Bitch. All top songs in their own right.

ATIWIAD is 2nd, with all 3 b-sides being very strong.

Purple Rain is up there for Erotic City and 17 Days. Another Lonely Christmas is kinda weak imo.

SOTTs...La La La Hee Hee Hee and Shockadelica are amoung my fave Prince songs.

Parade's b-sides are ok...mind u I LOVE the album and the 12" mixes...but the b-sides dont hold up with the others imo. Love or Money gets on my nerves.

I'm with U, 1999, Purple Rain, ATWIAD & Parade put out great B sides
hmmmm happened 2 be the noituloveRRevolution years too

I think ATWIAD had the strongest output the quality, lyrical poetry and musical layers were very high on the meter
Girl She's Always In My Hair Hello as B sides took Purple Music up a notch from Purple Rain. The 12" are even better than the 45's

Purple Rain 2 me is next, not much that came thru the PR sessions was weak
Erotic City, 17 Days, God(the Dance Electric) & Another Lonely Christmas(rock ballad) were all hot PR put out 4,
I actually prefer God the Dance Electic over God the Love theme which also feels like Venus De Melo
Erotic City was also the only B-side with an extended version.

Parades music was mellow 2 me and the B sides were good in connection with the album Old Friends 4 Sale should have been released as a B side
Parade 2 me had the best videos for the singles

SOTT & Lovesexy only 2

You'd be hard pushed to find a bad b-side from the 80s, right. smile

Some fans consider Sex as being annoying. I think they just didn't get a real, good, dirty fuck yet.

Your definately righ on there

B-sides (extended versions)
Protege albums
& unreleased music is the filler between Prince albums and songs

A collection of Prince's B-Sides is better than most artist's greatest hits compilations.

Hands down.

Erotic City was #1 on the "Black Chart" for weeks.
I remember my preacher preaching about Erotic City in church because kids were singing the song. That might have been his best sermon.

17 Days was played in heavy rotation on the R&B charts as well.

Another Lonely Christmas blew up radio in the Christmas season of 1984.
