Does Prince play 'When Doves Cry' live? Whenever I see anything live by him, I never see 'When Doves Cry'!

He played it during the Purple Rain and Sign O the Times and Lovesexy tours.

Although I agree that the studio version is superior, I like it live with a bass line. If I'm not mistaken, he played it during The Nude tour and it rocked!! | |

He played it during the solo keyboard sampler parts of the 21 Nights concerts in London. Definitely on the last night. Sung at least a verse and chorus as I recall. Just somewhere in the middle,

Oh, yes, you´re right, he played it there as well and that version was really nice.Most of the Nude tour versions of his songs were actually very good. I like Nothing Compares 2 U from that tour, very stripped down with Prince on the piano and no duet and no background singers. That tour was visually not that appealing but many songs sounded really strong on that tour, including When Doves Cry. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! He played it during the Musicology tour in Cleveland, and he mixed in a part of The Beautiful Ones with it. It was AWESOME!!!!! | |

On Act II Tour it was a few seconds of instrumental, on Hit 'N' Run it was the (prerecorded?) chorus and on Musicology he only did the first 2 verses. So Nude Tour was indeed the last proper performance? | |
