Does it matter that Salma Hayek is married?

Valentina. Dear lord...this song is hilarious.

Fellas, if a dude wrote a song to your child about your hot wife, and how she should "give (him) a call", would you be cool with it?

God bless you Prince, you old pimp,
"New Power slide...."

I think that it's sweet that Prince wrote a song 4 Salma's daughter. I assume that because of the "Te Amo Corazon," video that they established a friendship. What's a friend if it doesn't last forever right?

I think that with the Entertainment Business...It's just, "The More the Merrier." cool
"The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Errr... it's only for her daughter in the sense that Prince is using her to get a hook up. falloff

Thats what I was first thinking when I heard it... how effin BOLD of Prince to write a song like this for a married woman! Guess he either doesn't care, its an inside joke type thing or they're close enough friends that she's cool with it.
Change it one more time..

I was thinking it was borderline creepy...but there's probably some "La la la he he hee" kind of story behind it.

If somebody wrote a song about Prince's wife what do you think would happen. Murder she wrote lol Her husband cant be thrilled with the idea and most likely Prince wrote it before she got married, oops too late!

Salma Hayek was not married when he probably wrote it. Remember she was engaged to her daughter's father but the engagement was called off?

I think Prince wrote the song then to state that Salma was a hot mama and anyone would want to be married to her..

Possibly not the first time... wasn't Cindy Crawford married to Richard Gere when Prince wrote "Cindy C."?

I see a problem, though, with her being a talented, independent, intelligent, successful woman with a career and lots of money of her own. Plus she's 42.

Prince doesn't like ANY of that no no no!

he wrote Cindy C in 1987, according to Wikipedia...

"She was married to the actor Richard Gere between 1991 and 1995"

she didn't even start showing up on MTV until 1989, so he was ahead of the curve on her...

Valentina would be better left on Planet Earth to join the other nursery rhymes smile

A great example of dumbing down lyrics , or send the song to Salma as a gift,WE did not need to hear it.

Which brings me to my next question .We have our perceptions of Prince,Some grounded in pure observation. So,whats his perception of the fans/listeners
does he think oh folks don't care about music. There fore I'll just write anything because it's easy...and he'll make a buck. With today's ipod generation. Does he care how his music is delivered to our ears? In his eyes does he say-They don't get my music so in the interim hold back meaningful material.

The only tidbit I've grown to appreciate is the WEDDING FEAST lol
