I have explained that to a million people it seems. What is even worse is a lot of them did not realize he ever went back to "Prince".
I am like, wha???? where ya'll been? I think they don't realize it because he uses the symbol for most of everything he does and they did not notice the symbol as much before he changed his name as they did after the name changed to JUST the symbol. -you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude! | |

Then after all that damn explaining and finally getting them to understand. He went back to being Prince then I had to deal with people looking at ME like this

A lot of the time, I think the only reason we find ourselves in this situation is because it's all they can think of to ask or mention as a common point of conversation regarding Prince when they find out we're into him.
They either know already or don't really care, but it's like "hey, you like Prince, so this is my contribution to our one and only conversation about Prince." | |

I do all the time and when they hear my explanation they understand completely. Then they say ... "Oh, so he's not a fucking nut case after all".
My explanation: Warner Bros. owned everything at the time belonging to "Prince". He considered himself a slave to the record company so he changed his name to  until his contract with them was up.
