album with best production

what prince album you consider to have best production by prince?

my vote goes to controvery-music on that album just breathes .
while some ppl flame rainbow children production value i consider it to be great for it purpouse.
sign of the times while great album suffers from poor mastering.

Even though it's not one of my faves, I always thought Musicology was nicely produced.

nod That one too. If Eye Was The Man In Ur Life is brilliant, especially the repeating Wah-wah in the background, the moment the bass "slides" into action and those cracking drums.

Well done.

Dirty Mind

Minimal, immediate, and passionate. Prince is at his best that way.

i would actually predict that lotusflow3r will be his best produced. the tracks

we heard were off a very high quality, regardless if you like the songs or not

i always loved the production of parade... i think it's his most unique vibe and it's very 'warm' sounding. nice mix of synthetic to acoustic drums too. i think this album holds up the best for not being too dated sounding.
really cool use of different instruments that u don't hear everywhere.

I don't have any figures, but flac is the best download format there is.

FLAC is a lossless codec.

All lossless codecs contain the *exact* information as the source file.

No lossless codec is "better" than another (with regards to the information contained), since they're all lossless.
The differences are in the features - tags, encoding/decoding speed, compression ratio, ReplayGain support, etc.

The more popular ones are:

FLAC
WavPack
Monkey's (APE)
TAK
OptimFROG
WMAL
Shorten
ALAC

Personally, I dig WavPack.

it's certainly not my favorite prince album, but the symbol album has some pretty amazing production going on. maybe the production was a little TOO good.

well it has to be Purple rain-combining live and studio seemlessly. The mix's are spot on. All the albums up to Lovesexy are superb-i dissaggree that SOTT is badly mastered. To me-its more natural-or organic and less forced. I like its roughness. Lovesexy -now theres a mystery. great great record-BUT.....When you record-you get what we call a headphone mix-usually before the mix is fed to the house monitors. These mix's differ from the finishes mix. I think Lovesexy as good as it is-is a million times better on the headphones which is unusual. Don't believe me-try it n see-though decent headphones-none of that in your ear crap-some big phat head covering monsters wink

IMO, it's his most innovate album. People are STILL ripping off the production from this album!!!

What I love about this is the sequencing - on this particular record it was done perfectly in my opinion.
