my vote goes to the rainbow children.
lots of guitar lot of diffrent styles
from jazz rock to vangelis to steve vai.
prince coverd all ground.

I did these compilations quite a while ago now-I actually did it first for my dad-to show how good P is on the guitar. I never got round to giving them to pop's-I actually listen to these discs more than anything else in my collection. Enjoy if you can be bothered to put it all together

or solo on a prince song.
it's about album where prince played his guitar the best
or what you consider to be a best prince album guitar wise.

I have always adored the guitar in both Dolphin and Gold, I still get a shiver down my spine when I hear the instrumental break in Dolphin.

The Gold Experience album is what got me into the Electric guitar sound.

yeah the way prince played guitar on gold expiriance album is great
hate you have joe satriani like licks.

prince's guitar fills on shhh studio is pure joy

dolphin have simple but very emotional solo.
the only guitar solo from that album i dont dig is on endorphin machine.

after i heard interactive version of endorphinmachine
i just can't listen to studio version from gold album.

every solo is a classic.
from prince's dirty solo on darling nikki or
blueasy solo on beautiful ones,
not to mention briliant solo and
intro on when doves cry(jeff becks favourite solo by prince)

and hendrix like solos on title track and lets go crazy
i dont know why people never mention the beatiful ones guitar solo?
maybe because in the movie wendy mimic the solo so
many people are not aware of the fact
its prince playing it.

but the award to the best solo on purple rain goes to computer blue.
that solo is probably in top 10 best guitar solos by prince.
lydian mode of computer blue is great great great.

i always liked the guitar solo for shockadelica, because it fits with the music so well and is so raw and distinctive

There is some great guitar on The Gold Experience, for sure... to me it's kinda like the Purple Rain of the 90s.

Also the guitar play on "Just My Imagination" live for those who know is worth a mention i think
