Mine was without a doubt, when he walked out on stage at American Idol. I had heard the rumors but never believed he would do it!

Probably the biggest surprise was when he said "Welcome 2 The Dawn" at Wembley Stadium Aug 31st 1993, before kicking into his new songs...

As a bit of a Prince nutter I knew the significance of this. "May U Live 2 See The Dawn" had appeared on many Prince album and movie credits, and was a big part of the mystique.

I remember getting goosebumps as the first notes of Come, then Endorphinmachine, then Peach etc... I think Prince genuinely believed at that point that breaking from Warner Bros was the dawn of his new musical and spiritual revolution.

Shame it all got a bit messy...

the biggest chok was this danish article, some weird doctor claiming Prince was sick of AIDS, this diagnosis was made only by looking at the picture at the right....

Prince announced today (May 8) a 21-date London residency kicking off in August, and told journalists he wants to perform with Amy Winehouse.

Really he knows about Amy ...cool...

Looking as sharp as ever in cream suit, purple shirt and black sunglasses, the pint-sized legend " responsible for the smash hits Purple Rain and U Got The Look - held a press conference at swanky London members club The Hospital to reveal the dates.

Last time I was here a lot of people didnt get to see me, he told reporters, so I wanted it to be more affordable this time. They will be his only shows in Europe this summer.

Appearing in a private room draped with purple curtains, he also divulged plans to cover the Winehouses Love Is A Losing Game - and admitted he wants to perform it with her saying: "I'm a big fan".

Prince also said that he had been rehearsing 150 songs for the tour.

Prince, formerly a squiggle, will kick off the London leg of The Earth Tour with seven nights at The 02 Arena (formerly the Millennium Dome) from August 1. But what he didnt mention was where the remaining 14 nights in the capital will be held - hopefully theyll include a few more intimate venues.

Tickets for The 02 Arena gigs will set fans back 31.21 and will include a free copy of his new album- they go on sale this Friday. Take note Madonna and Barbara Streisand...

Yes, she does have a great, unique voice. Her 2 albums are fantastic.

I can't say that Prince has ever really shocked me, but I was very sad when he and Mayte divorced.

I dunno...but I wanted to comment on the AI thing...I think he missed the boat on that one...he shoulda done the whole shabang....a prince night where they all sing his songs and he works with each one of them and all...the artists always come off very good and I think Prince woulda come off great, people woulda saw him as more human, funny, casual, interesting...but...he didn't.
