Do you believe in fate? I used to kind of, sort of believe in it, but now I am absolutely convinced that fate exists. Why? You see, I've been a crazy die-hard fan of Prince's music my whole life. As a matter of fact, I just recently got engaged with the live version of 'Adore' (from the first Celebration which I was at) playing in the background as I asked my girlie to marry me. Her response: "I don't know if I can say 'yes' because you don't have the studio version of Adore playing." Was that a great response or what? If anything, it confirmed I was making the right decision of the perfect woman for me--it truly was a beautiful thing.

First we decided we wanted "Forever in My Life" as our 'first dance' song. Then it came to deciding on the date. I know I have 18 days of paid vacation this year (not including weekends), my job ends on June 30, so I figured I'd save all of my vacation days and stack them at the end so I could enjoy 2 weeks worth of honeymooning (made up word) after the wedding. And then it came time to hire a band for the wedding.

I listen to a few different bands before finally deciding on a funk/soul band. The band's manager asked me when I wanted to get married, and I replied, "The first weekend in June."

"How about June 7?" he asked. I shook my head in disbelief.
"What's that?" I asked.
"How about June 7, the first Saturday in June?"

Here I've been this crazy P fan my whole life, and coincidentally it just so turns out that the day I think I want to get married happens to be Prince's birthday?? Needless to say, even though it will be 2003, you can be rest assured we'll be partying like it's 1999!!! And the best part about it is that every year, we can commemorate our marriage date with Prince's music (which we both love), which then got me thinking.

What better way to celebrate an anniversary then at the future Celebrations!!! It was like a dream come true but it obviously was something that I never actually even thought of to even dream about. Fate sure has a funny way of sneaking up on you. Anyway, I just wanted to share my story with everyone. I hope I put a big smile on your face as you read my story, and yes it is 100% true

Congrats!! It must be nice to have a mate that can appreciate his music with you. My husband don't care for him at all so my sisters and I have to end up getting together for concerts or just watching videos together. I hope everything works out.

Congrats Phunk!!! So I have a question will the honeymoon be at Celebration 2003? Wouldn't that be cool if P sang a song like Adore or Forever in my Life for you at the Celebration? Ahh.. just dreamin'...it would definately make for a memorable honeymoon.
