Chocolate Box feat Q-Tip to be the new single : HipHop-n-More.com

http://hiphop-n-more.com/...ming-soon/

The site reports that Chocolate Box is the new single by Prince from his new album and it features Q-Tip.

The site mostly posts authentic information hence there is no reason to disbelieve.

Great. If Chocolate Box is the best MPLSound has to offer, I'll be completely skipping over that album.

I love the music but his vocal delivery is lacking, it has that teeny bopper pop Britney Spears clone trying to be down, sound to it. I love Tribe Called Quest and Q Tip but I don't want to hear a rapper splice in his music

some of the 80's poetry rap stuff he did was cool. Cat's (rap) on Positivity & Alphabet St, Jill Jones/Sheila E. on It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night, Prince on Love or Money. And it didn't change his music his voice his musical feel

they don't specify that the song is actually from MPLSound(which is part of the LotusFlower set) but I guess that's just being too picky.

Wow, how one can come up with these conclusions from 45 seconds of a song is beyond me. The org at it's best I tell you!
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

some of you guys are being negative about this track. all we had to go on was a one minute clip. let's wait for the whole thing.

Having Q-Tip on the track is exciting and should hopefully make it that much cooler of a track. He sure helped spice up the TGRES remix!!!

Yes, but you CAN tell a lot from a 45 second clip. If you don't even like what you heard in those 45 seconds how can you be expected to like the whole song?

There's been many a time when I've heard a clip and thought, 'Wow! That sounds great! Can't wait to hear the rest!' But with Chocolate Box it was more like confused I don't think the song will drastically change much from the 45 seconds we heard and if I don't even like that well...you know...skip.

If Prince is getting his message out through a hip-hop website, then the future just got a lot bleaker.

"Prince" and "hip-hop" should never be used in the same sentence, unless it's something like, "Prince's music sure shows how lame hip-hop is".

Actually I think its a good sign. I believe the clip was more like 30 seconds... 45 maybe,,?

It was definitely funky and catchy... though not one of his better tunes, he has done worse.

One constant about Prince has been how weak his tracks released usually are compared to the rest of the album. With this being the release.. I anticipate a couple very good tracks which will never get airplay.

Like Prince, Like Q-Tip, Not heard the clip so going to go in blind, old-school style.

I think the internet has spoiled the music experience for a lot of folk with all these previews.

Even at his peak, it took more than a couple of listens to digest albums and then enjoy them, no patience some people.

I will add i've got as shit slow connection at the moment so lotusflower won't open up for me, otherwise i would've spoil myself silly! lol . That's the main reason i'm not joining, not user-friendly for me, and can't upgrade at present.

From Newsweek:

"Crimson and Clover," Prince's cover of the Tommy James and the Shondells classic (with a little bit of Hendrix's "Wild Thing" thrown in for good measure) is the first single from "LOtUSFLOW3R."

The aforementioned "Chocolate Box" is the nominee from "MPLSoUND," while the Bria Valente song "Everytime" will be the first multimedia from that disc. All three videos will debut on the site upon its March 24 launch.

You know it's a shame he'll get little airplay on TV and Radio, if the world was sensible this would be a big hit. It's a very strong track.

Do you think he'd dip in his own deep pockets to finance promotion himself?

This track is garbage. 45 seconds is all it takes to know that. Lyrics bout as shallow as they come and not a lick of creativity in em. Color by numbers the whole thing. MPLS sound album so far is worse than I thought. I cant stand when he tries to cop the beats of lame club music. If you a pimp with the ladies like he is sayin, you wouldnt have to shout it out to the world, theyd already know. disbelief

To clarify, according to Newsweek, there will be one single released from each CD:

'Crimson& Clover' (Lotusflow3)
"Chocolate Box" (MPLSound)
"Everytime" (Elixir)
