Take the melody of Forever In My Life and sing it to a slow 2/4 beat and you'll realise that it's actually very bluesy. The arrangement makes it a song that can't really be identified as anything in particular, but what we can define is that at least the melody of his singing is blues indeed.

did u know prince was thinking of the song everyday people when he wrote this song?

No, how do you know?

Do you want to prove some kind of point with this or was it just a nice way of passing on information?

Until eye discover the land beyond expertise and chastity
Eye'm just trying 2 get U satisfied (satisfied) sexy

wow, sounds like ppl don't know what the blues is. its one thing to have a song with LONGING in it, like How Come You Don't Call Me No More but BLUES is all about the arrangement. So How Come doesn't qualify, neither does 4Ever in My Life, or Gotta Broken Heart Again.

I'd say Satisfied, On The Couch, If I had a Harem, for me.

The Truth and Don't Play me are just acoustic and more folksy than bluesy, IMHO

Im sorry but How Come You Dont Call Me Anymore sounds blusey 2 me nod how about Count The Day's?

prince admitted so ..and if u know the lyrics 2 everyday people ..sing them over 4ever in my life ..nod

and another reason he would do 4ever in my life then go in2 everyday people in concert
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Interesting selections so far! Maybe the blues are open to interpretation. I can actually see how some of you selected "Forever in My Life." I never really thought of it that way before. Slowing it down would give it more of a "bluesy effect."

I heard him do Mary don't you weep once and it was a slice of chewable, fulfilling bluesy funk.
