1 . Was It My Face ? ( Paris aftershow, Le New Morning 1987)

2. The Undertaker ( that long and officially released version, VHS tape )

3. The Ride ( Bagley´s Warehouse 1993 )

4. Five Women

5. Blues in G ( If I Had a Harem ) live in Dortmund, 1988.

In this order. And of course Old Friends For Sale but somehow the piano parts in it make it less of a "Blues" song to me, even though it actually is.The piano and Clare Fisher strings sound great but I wouldn´t really call it a traditional Blues song, unlike the songs above with their simpler structure ( guitar, drums, bass).

Well, it IS called Wasn´t My Faith but that doesn´t really make sense when you pay attention to the rest of the lyrics.
I guess some of those bootleggers in the early days of bootlegging were not really native speakers and misheard the lyrics and it just stuck. Remember the days when Moonbeam Levels was known as " A Better Place 2 Die " ( which , at least, makes a bit sense....but Wasn´t My Faith doesn´t make any sense at all...keep in mind that it´s just a bootleg songname, not a legit release).
There are dozens of mislabeled Prince songs.
And sometimes even Prince and his camp make mistakes when it comes to lyrics or songs or album titles but that´s a whole different story.

Oh I agree . I always called it faith though but he does talk about his person (hair, cologne) but I like Faith becasue it speaks about his faith in the love between the two. Then again it could be face to because he is talking about the personal too. But saying "it weasnt my faith..that was true in this relationship" sounds so Adore-like cool.

wow, sounds like ppl don't know what the blues is. its one thing to have a song with LONGING in it, like How Come You Don't Call Me No More but BLUES is all about the arrangement. So How Come doesn't qualify, neither does 4Ever in My Life, or Gotta Broken Heart Again.

I'd say Satisfied, On The Couch, If I had a Harem, for me.

The Truth and Don't Play me are just acoustic and more folksy than bluesy, IMHO

Take the melody of Forever In My Life and sing it to a slow 2/4 beat and you'll realise that it's actually very bluesy. The arrangement makes it a song that can't really be identified as anything in particular, but what we can define is that at least the melody of his singing is blues indeed.
