I understand.... Ask me any day of the week and I can tell the complete tracklisting IN order for Dirty Mind, Parade, Even SOTT.(even vinyl as to where side 2, 3 or 4 begin!).. or be able to jam COMPLETELY and sing every lyric and adlib for "Dance On", "Vicky Waiting".. or even "Something In the Water"....whereas I can't for the LIFE of me tell you the tracklisting to "Planet Earth"...let alone sing along to umm.... say... "Lions of Judah"???!?!? I find myself wondering if I dont absorb myself into the Later albums like I used to... they aren't BAD albums...but they don't leave their PERMANENT fingerprints like Lovesexy, 1999 or AWIAD has... hell I can even rap along to some of Tony M's moments...(bad confession, but I can even groove and rap along some lines on the TC Ellis CD) I'm hoping the new LotusFlower/MPLS/Bria Boxset will be more refreshing in that sentiment.

I Love that Prince is still singing and giving us new music. I will always care about each album 4 the time that it was, and welcome with an open heart all that Prince has inside him to give 2 us. When we look back on it all it's a wonderful library of great music and good feelings. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I think it just takes some time. Personally, I really really dig the new tracks from Lotusflow3r and I already have build up something like a special relationship with each of those songs.
We'll see what we think about the current albums in 4-5 years, but I expect the new ones to really have a very positive impact on me. [Edited 3/16/09 10:05am]
