Hello all

I was watching the Livesexy performance for the 1000 time when i noticed something odd. The basketball ring onstage is oversized - like, WAY oversized. Obviously this is intentional as Prince had to net the ball during his show. A wider hoop would obviously lower the odds of him missing.
Yes, yes.. we know the boy got game but go check the performance if you don't believe me.

This leads me to my question.

Did anybody witness Prince MISS his shot on the lovesexy show they went to? Did he ever miss that crazy big hoop?

Well call the basketball police.

He missed a least once when I saw the show, but he was close. He was always further out when he shot than Cat was, so I think he missed more often than she did. That was a fun part of the show. Of course, everything about watching that whole concert was just so happy.

I never got to see it live (was only 8yrs old). The released VHS was captivating though. i recall that Cat missed the shot on that particular show but Prince looked so cool with it. I had no idea he missed it as much! I was expecting one or two accounts - particularly considering how big that hoop was!

I remember reading a review of the whole tour somewhere (maybe in Rolling Stone?) that talked about how Cat had sunk more shots in total but she took much safer shots than Prince ever did.

And seriously, it makes me happy just thinking about that hoop in the middle of that silly (in a good way) stage, with a whole band of really good musicians in these ridiculous outfits. And in the middle of the show they stop to shoot some hoops. Everything in the concert was so all over the place, but it all made sense when put together.

He missed both shots at the MPLS show. The first was a pretty easy shot. After he missed, he tried a to shoot with his back to the hoop and missed again. Cat made her basket tho.

Yea he just kinda played it off like it was no big deal. Then he hawked a loogie and sent it flying into Cat's weave. She was dancing with a big glob in her hair for the rest of the night.
