I do not live in the same state where the CDs were spotted. I have 2 assume they hit all Target Stores at the same time. They R NOT on the sales floor they R locked up in a cage in the stock room with the video games. I do NOT have the CD and I doubt the employee that gave me the info will be able 2 get one. However with the CDs arriving accross the country - U would have 2 assume it will only b a matter of time.....

That's some crabbinakle lies! I've been going there everyday for a week now and they tell me no it's not in yet...

of course they will tell you it's not in yet because you will beg them to sell it to you. they have to tow the party line. If it is indeed in the back of some stores, it will be leaked shortly. We will see.

I'm not sure I believe this. I worked in a record store for years, and we never got new releases this far ahead of time. A week maybe, but more than two? I don't think so.

If Prince doesn't want it out until 3/29 (to allow for release on his website, to promote it first, whatever) so be it...BUT...release dates ("street dates") are generally to allow for fairness among different retailers releasing the same item (one retailer could get a shipment several days before another retailer--if everybody has the same release date it keeps it equal)...it's not "illegal" to sell an item before a release date--but an offending retailer could be "punished" by the manufacturer (record company, movie studio, etc.) in the form of delayed future shipments, reduced co-op advertising dollars, and other methods...

...but since there is only one retailer for Lotusflow3r, the only fairness issue of the release date would be whether one Target store is selling it before another Target store...there would be no repercussions of selling it "early" for the Target chain as a whole other than ticking off Prince if he's insistent on 3/29...

Of course anything that could set Prince himself off isn't a good thing for the fans...so I'm content to wait until 3/29 for the physical release...

I would like to end this post with an open offer to collect all discarded promotional material for Lotusflow3r so it can be properly disposed of and recycled if necessary...I'm only looking out for the planet here...

Leaks make it easier to decide if I want to spend my money. If I like it I buy it. If I don't likt it I trash it. I look at it like a test drive.

After Planet earth, I need to listen to an entire album. I don't care if it's 12 bucks for 3 albums. I dig the 4 lotus flower songs I have heard, the rest not so much. These albums 100% deserve a test drive.

My whole motto with any artist is after 2 albums that I don't like I step away and won't check out their new stuff anymore. P is one album away from this rule. He almost lost me after NPS, but has kept me going because I liked everything he released after until Planet Earth, which was the most boring and uninspired album he's ever done (with the exception of Somewhere here on Earth). I don't know if he can do it this time. I look forward to an eventual leak.

Maybe i'll take a ride down the street to Target and take a look

I dont think I wanna go look, Ive changed my mind. If the CD's and the promo stuff is there early then this is a bad thing. Never send stuff early, someone is bound to take something and just maybe leak the music.
