i do not know if this topic has been discussed before,i am a newbie so dont bite my head off...but it seems like prince did a lot more interviews when he was married to mayte and he it seems like he was more comfortable talking to people,just curious on your opinions!

Yeah he did a lot more interviews during that time, mostly with her right beside him. Not only interviews but award show apperances too. It was like he couldnt talk to anyone unless she was there.

Something turned Prince off. He used to give autographs and mingle with his fans and smile and everything. Something scared him half to death.

Around this time he was breaking away from Warner Bros. and setting up NPG so the need for self promo work was completely obvious.
This mean't interviews, award shows,and writing SLAVE on his cheek ,as well as wearing a bee-keepers outfit(which always brought MJ surgical masks to mind),just to get the notice that his previous silence had already given him.

It appears to have been a happier period for Princey. Lately every time he gives an interview all hell breaks loose

I watched a brief interview with Alex Trebek the other night and he was talking about celebrity Jeapordy...Alex said that it was very common that Actors, Actresses and Singers are shy when having to be themselves for a camera without the support of a script...

Maybe Prince is shy in this way.
