Batman: The Movie (20th Anniversary Edition) on Blu-ray

Hi y'all,

i just read about this on IGN and it made me think 2 things. 1: my god that was 20 years ago when I was in college and how I remember going to Batman themed dance parties being the DJ wearing my Batman symbol tee shirt and playing the Purple Party Mix, going to the premiere of the movie, excited to hear Prince's music in the film. ...ahh the memories

AND 2: I wonder if these 2 items in the special features will pull anything out of the archives talking about Prince's collaboration with Tim Burton, inspired by Jack's joker to come up with much of the music for the Batman album.

Also I wonder if the 3 videos have been remastered to HD or if they were just 480p upscaled.. Or if it will be easier to make out Prince in the opening sequence of the film in the shadows.

Thoughts?

Myth.

A friend of mine loaned me the newest DVD version of Batman released a few years ago ... the 3 music videos were not even remastered up to DVD-quality.

This leads me to believe that they won't be remastered to Blu-Ray quality either - but I hope I am wrong.

It isn't a great blu-ray, the source material just isn't that sharp. Better than dvd, but not much. And the great pity is the Prince promos ARE NOT in HD.
They look really shit. Pity.

I guess it depends if his videos were shot with video cameras or actual film...If they exist on film, they can be remastered to HD. If they are only on video tape, then I guess it would be alot more work. Not simply a new transfer but a frame by frame clean up...
