I think we can be sure it will be mainly an Electronic sounding album. I always thought 3121 would have been a killer album if it had stuck to the more synth based funky stuff 3121 Lolita Black Sweat Love These songs make that album for me. I'm more excited about this than Lotus. You know I'm with you on that, especially about 3121. I'm also a bit more excited about this one than Lotusflow3r. I think it's because there's more of it that I don't know much about than with the other one. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

This thread made listen to There'll never be another like me again, and it's a fine funky song, it's not mind blowing as good as stuff like Controversy, DMSR, Black Sweat, but it's good and if it was by some new artist I'd be thinkin' it was funky.
Yesterday I was listening to the new Plantlife album and I was thinking at times this is funky and that is a good album but it ain't as Good as 1980-1984 Prince, but nothing is to me, but I'm still glad he made it and I still enjoyed listening to it. So I don't expect Mplsound to be as good as Controversy, 1999, What Time is it, but I expect it to be as good as other good Funky/RnB albums released within the last few years. | |

If 'There'll Never be another like Me' and 'Chocolate Box' is any indication, then I think the album will be in the same genre as Slaughterhouse or The Chocolate Invasion ie. made up of songs that he didn't use for 3121 or Planet Earth
and that's ok.... even though Slaughterhouse or Chocolate Invasion weren't great - there more than a couple of good songs I am more looking forward to Lotus Flower myself though...I love it when Prince puts the guitar up front... Elixir might be a surprise for some.... ever the optimist, I have set my sights low - that way I won't be disappointed... [Edited 3/14/09 1:44am] |
