Yes, many times. These are the killers for me...
Shhh - the ending especially from the last guitar solo on Do Me Baby - Especially a couple live versions I have - Mika's tokyo intro Fury on SNL - Prince just KILLED it, and with that great finish I was just F**K Ya!!! (weeping like a 5 year old girl) The Dance Little Red Corvette - "Guurrrrl you've got an ass like I've never seeeen, and the ride" and then those exquisite guitar notes ... Sensual Everafter Computer Blue Solo - 1st Ave 83 Future Baby Mamma - The musical arrangement and vocals at the very beginning on headphones. Those Lin drums still get to me. Erotic City - Guitar version, basement rehearsal clips. So raw and fresh. RRHOF - While My Guitar.... Purple Rain on Arsenio when he played it for Patti La Belle. The crowd just loses it when he heads into the final solo and they switch the camera shot to behind Prince - He spins about 4 times and the crowd almost combusts. Gotta go find that clip again ... It is funny, no other artist really gets the water works going for me like that save for a couple of Bob Marley live recordings I have and when U2 busted out Bad when I saw them last tour. He got choked up and I saw tears in his eyes and I definetly had them in mine. Beautiful memory!

Awww! Ya know he won't listen! he will once y'all stop yelling at him 2 do the hits man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Never. He's not wired for that. For me, Prince very, very rarely gives away what makes him tick. It's just not in his nature to confess, unless it conveys him as either the bewildered victim or concrete cocked dreamlover who knows all a woman's desires, whims and fancies. Both perspectives are bullshit - Prince seems to find it either impossible or extremely difficult articulate the grey area in between. It gives his songs/music (which, to me, are still sonically imaginative and wonderfully clever) flat one-dimentional cartoonish aftertaste - as if the creation of his art is solely intended to embellish his own myth. Some weird form of artistic masturbation and comfort blanket for his obviously fragile ego. Very little of it doesn't feel contrived or calculated - it's a shame most untrained ears can hear in Prince's recent work is a glossy garish mess with added windchime sound-effects.
I guess I'm just saying I can't empathise with Prince. He's too obsessed with the characature elements of his personality - and his sense of humour is hardly inclusive. His life is just too different from mine. He just can't make me an emotional confidant. I guess I'm just waiting on his Rick Rubin album.

Once about 12 years ago I was minding my own business sitting alone and eating a chicken, rice n beans dish at Popeyes in Florida. Out of nowhere Prince came over and started pointing and calling me fatty boom boom. I have 2 admit, that made me cry a little. Wake up children, dance the dance electric... there isn't much time.... who farted? ...was it u?

Yes. Only he can. Of course his music is on another level and, no doubt, in a class by itself, but his lyrics are just so original, he makes you fall in love with not only his music but his mind. U're the reason eye took a rope and lassoed the moon 2 prove that when it comes to you there's nothing that eye won't do. Eye would stare in2 the sun if u would be mine it's not so great a leap since 2 all others I am blind.

Yes, twice. And I'm super jaded, I WILL NOT cry over books, movies, songs, real life, ANYTHING, The only thing I can remember that ever broke me down was a classmate of mine who spoke about her father's death in front of, like, one third of the senior class during a retreat (It was a preventable one at that. Some doctor FUCKED UP big time, I was so pissed off and crying).
Anyway, now mind you I wasn't bawling, but I did have a little cry. The version of Purple Rain at the BRIT awards was sooo pretty, I teared up a bit. And I don't really like that song. And then, one time, last year my parents had gotten into a big fight. And I had put on my head phones to drown them out. Holy shit, when doves cry came on, I started tearing up and I had to skip the song. I NEVER SKIP THAT SONG! But I had to. [Edited 4/30/09 16:56pm]

Yes when he sang 'Beautiful Ones' at the O2 and I was close by in my seat, also when he started gig with 'Lets Go Crazy' and we were by the stage then, that song is important to me as it helped amongst other things get me through a tough time.

I would hate to know what your loove life is like..since when do your ears have to be "well trained" to actually feel or enjoy a good tune that touches you?? And i think anyone who is in the spotlight has a "fragile ego..but instead of him becoming a cokeheaded bipolar havin' supa starr, he immersed himself in his music..we all lead different lives..it doesnt mean that i can't relate to another fan.or Prince for that matter.if that was the case, there would be no "org"...if you are as anylitical to all other elements in your life as you are in music,, i feel really really sad for you..not everything is black and white...its called beautiful, disasterous, **JOY FANTASTIC** life!!! I can't say that I've ever cried, but I have gotten goosebumps a time or two.
One example being when he kicked the microphone stand over at the '85 AMA's during Purple Rain. Such an emotional performance. That shit made the hair on my neck stand up. He is exactly who we thought he was

I had bought it on cassette tape the day it was released, and was listening to it on my Ghetto Blaster on the rooftop of my building (while enjoying a cold beer, a doobie, and some sunshine). I don't know why because I didn't really get the lyrics on the first listen, and I had no concept of what the movie was going to be about yet, but something about that music just grabbed my heart - the rest is history.
