We could say that about the Beatles as well. Damn, John Lennon sux, like totally dude.

I assume this cat is kidding.

But there is some truth to what he is saying. Whenever you are removed from an artist or even a style of music, you can tend to think it all sounds the same.

For example, bebop jazz all sounded the same to me until I fully emersed myself in it. Now I think Thelonius Monk and Horace Silver sound NOTHING alike.

And I don't listen to country music that often, so it kinda sounds all the same to me.

And blues music, which usually follows a I, IV, V pattern, can definitely all sound the same to someone who is not immersed in it.

Same with classical music.

The list goes on.

And this is a little non-PC, but

Same thing with races.

You might think all Chinese people look the same...

Until you get to know a handful of them, then you can see the difference.

Same with animals. You might think all German Sheppards look the same, until you get a puppy and live with it for a year. Then you can pick it out of a German Sheppard line-up.
