Genius WILL show itself I felt compelled to write real quick following the Thursday night performance on Leno. Prince and his band moved me tonight. That was as good a live television performance as I've ever seen.
The music spoke for itself. ...So the thought occurred that - genius WILL show itself. We may not all like every Prince track or lyric or production or performance - but when he hits it right - Prince is brilliant. To draw a sports analogy - in baseball - a genius would have a .400 batting average. That means he misses six times out of ten. Great basketbal shooters hit in the 50-60% range - meaning they too miss nearly half of their shots. If the Wednesday night performance was not a critical hit - Prince rebounded Thursday with a home run and a slam dunk. | |

I think you mean "second to NO one...period". I have seen Prince live over 40 times in my life and I always marvel at how acts like U2 and Madonna and even Britney Spears get more accolades for their shows. How can you see Prince and even walk out onstage asa big star who is supposed to be his peer? PRINCE has NO peers! NO one is as great and it has been that way for the last 3 decades. | |
