I was there.... I didn't meet anyone. Everyone was complaining about being locked out of the Target Center for 2 hours. My brother came with me (who isn't a Prince fan) and was mad because he wanted to go late because the paper said something like "Prince please start on time". Again...Prince started 2 hours late. I was outside at first but then I saw people moving in the skywalk between the parking lot and the Center. So, I ran up there jsut to be stuck in a VERY HOT skywalk. SUCKED.....

Good concert....Musicology in 2004 was better but it was fun.

nod I attended the Macy's concert and the Target Center concert. We were not able to purchase tickets for First Ave. Loved the Macy's show,as it was up close and personal in a small setting. The sound was fantastic, Prince and the band(including Sheila E and Shelby) gave a perfect performance. He performed a combination of old and new material. I'll never forget how he fell backwards into the crowd. I spoke to two girls that I had met many years ago at other Prince functions. So that was a surprise to see them there.

I had a difficult time with the sound at the Target Center due to our seats being in the back directly opposite of the stage. The sound was muffled but I still enjoyed the show. What a great day of Prince concerts!! star star star star and thumbs up! thumbs up!

I've had the pleasure of seeing him in concert numerous times, every one is a different experience too. biggrin

I forgot that the Target Center concert started late. lol I was across the street, eating dinner at Applebees. And then later I had ice cream at Cold Stone and then people watched. My friend and I walked around outside for a little while looking at the crowd and just taking it all in. Then a guy came up to me and I didn't remember him right away but it was someone that I had met many years ago at Prince record convention. We chatted for a while and I noticed some guy with a camcorder walking around, trying to get close to us. I was getting a little annoyed. My friend later found a video of us and the guy talking on You Tube that this guy recorded!
eek Who knew we were that interesting. lol

I saw the Target Concert only....we didn't feel like standing in that long
line for the Macy's one.

Actually we had excellent seats at the Target Center...the sound was pretty
good where we were...anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed the Concert even though
it was a long, hot wait getting in.... and then starting really late besides.
I've never heard so many complainers in my life lol

After the concert was seemingly over, we sat and waited while about half the
audience cleared out, and he came back and did some encores....worth the wait.
I loved the way they had the stage set with walk-ways and all, but I guess I
still prefer the stage in the center, like they did at Excel Center.

I'd really love it if someone would put the set list on here...I think maybe
it was done two years ago, but I didn't copy it then, or if I did, I've
misplaced it.

Thanks for the set list..... cool
I know the encore wasn't long, and yes it included Glamorous Life,
but I have it in my head that there was one or two more....but it
was quite a while ago now, so maybe I'm all wet lol

And I if remember correctly, he started a lot later at First Ave
than people thought he was going to also...isn't that why they closed
down First Ave because he wanted to go past closing time since he
started so late?

just want to add there was alot of fans drinking at that show, like even in the first 5 rows, ppl got drunk before he came out and left shortly after the show started, whats the point of paying all that money just to leave a belligerent drunk before the concert barely is underway? eek

This was my first concert with Prince! I drove from Omaha. It was extremely hot that day. I met some girl that went to Macy's, said that was the best. My seat was next to a speaker that crackled, but I didn't care. People were drinking because of the long wait and the heat. They had a few people inside at first and kicked them out with the rest of us. I was with my 70 yr old mom, who is cool, but not into Prince. I couldn't believe the crowd was not screaming and standing on their feet when he began. I did and soon others in my section followed. It was so great! Just watching him love what he does. I missed him falling into the crowd. I know he had 2 or 3 encores. My poor mom could not take any more and we had to leave. I would have stayed until the stage was bare. Our hotel was right up the street. Being late for Macy's, he was in turn late for Target Ctr, then late for 1st Ave. I met a lady in the elevator and she stated she was skipping the 1st Ave because he was later having a private show at Paisley park and then top it off someplace else. I could err for not trying to get into 1st Ave after it started. I guess a couple of people did. That is my story.
No matter what U say or do
I will always appreciate U 4 U
U r amazing and U never stop working

Not exactly as he did in Purple Rain. He held his arms out to his side and fell backwards. That's the only time I have seen him spread his arms out like that when falling backwards. The crowd didn't push him back up right away.

I was there. Only went to the Target Center show. Was about to wait in line for the First Ave tickets, but then remembered I had to work in the morning.

Waited forever. And the sound was absolutely terrible. I couldn't make out a thing Prince said throughout the whole concert. Out of my friends, I was the only one who could make out some of the songs that were being played [just because I'm that obsessive]. It was great to see him with Wendy again, but the sound really ruined the concert for me and my friends.

I had a blast!

Caught an extra early flight from Chicago to get in the 1st Ave. line by 8 a.m.,
got my ticket went back to my hotel room to catch a nap before the Target Center show so no Macy's for me. Was dropped off at the corner of the Target right before the doors open so I totally avoided the wait. Left when Shelby started singing so I could get in line at First Ave. for the after show. Met up with friends there, I never rely on anyone to go with me when it comes to Prince, I'll just see you there.

I was thinking the same thing. My section was sat the whole time. eek Musicology we danced the whole time.

I remember there was a live aid or green aid type event going on that day across the US. There was rumors all week that there was going to be a live feed from Minneapolis so I recorded the late version of the concert. Prince started late (at 10 instead of 8) and I remember he came out right at 10 and was singing as he walked onto the stage singing Purple Rain. I was so excited because I thought 1) he came on right at 10, 2) he is opening with Purple Rain....how perfect.....I came home to look at the concert but it wasn't aired.
Ah well.....

The line was way too long for First Ave....Around the block (the long way) and it was HOT so I skipped it.

I'm not sure about the security being a problem. He was just there in 2004 after each concert in Minneapolis (Musicology 4ever tour). I am sure he just wanted to do something different and bring back the 1st ave days...it's been like 20 years since he was last there. I jsut wish he would have done Paisley Park instead of Macy's (but I am sure that was due to the perfume contracts) because it was a hot night and I was ready to just kick it at Paisley Park until early morning.

and "speculations" that he was there in the dark wings somewhere....none of
us never saw him lol
