I never know how to answer this question. Knowing that Prince is behind the music always brings a smile to my heart.
The classics, "Let's go Crazy," and "Purple Rain," of course. I love the guitar in "Kiss," which I think would be great, "Guitar Hero," choices. Last night I really appreciated the guitar in "Live4Love." and the conversation never really ends with Prince as a Legend with this instrument. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Nothing I've heard since...and that's a Helluva lot...can match this one. It is simply majestic, builds to an amazing crescendo and is what, about five minutes long? I've listened to it 100 times, easy. Unreal.

no sander you should listen again.
yes prince didnt use whammy bar but on recording of 777-9311 prince used whammy bar because jesse was using it frequently. so prince recorded solo with whammy bar and if you listen you will recognise prince's sound and way of phrasing on 777-9311 all instruments is prince first time jesse played on time album is jungle love. even my drawers is prince

guitar solo on 777-9311 is prince
i play guitar for a long time and i could always recognise prince's sound on guitar . this solo is prince ,and its stupid to arguee with me on that because 90 %of the people on org also know its prince playing guitar solo on 777-9311 the only reason prince used whammy on 777-9311 is to show jesse he can do it. after prince completed the song he meet jeese and throw a tape of the 777-9311 to jesse and prince said:jesse you play a great solo on 777-9311. it was a diuss to jesse in a way.

jesse's whammy bar work and phrasing is much diffrent then what prince did on studio version of 777-9311
and by the way it isnt the first prince solo with whammy. on controversy a little song named private joy contains prince's guitar solo with whammy bar. prince didn't use whammy regulary until year 2000 ,but he did use it on a few ocassions before...

Dear Banishedone. [Stop] Most people know it's Prince on guitar. [Stop] Those who don't know probably don't care. [Stop] It's no use getting so wound up only to repeat blackguitarist's words in this thread. [Stop] Focus on interpunction instead. [Full Stop]

The live performance at 1st Avenue 6.7.83 was even hotter... (Possessed) surely was the label for the Purple Music. He was just lost in the guitar solo

I agree, it was beautiful and even though it could be called 'cover' Prince & the Lovesexy band turned that into Purple Music it really had an intimate feel and the guitar solo was truly majestic...
