i love this song. i have the 12inch vinyl and used to spin at clubs all the time. one day i was listening to the acapella version on the other side and realised it blended perfectly with 50 cent's instrumental of P.I.M.P [Edited 2/26/09 10:21am]

Somebody once told him that he wouldn't take Prince through the ringer, let him go down as a washed up singer, ain't that a bitch, thinking all along that he wanted to be rich!
Never respected the root of all evil and he still don't to this day! And you thought he was in it soley for the money! Love this song...one of the best on Emancipation! I heard the rip when you sat down!

It wasn't the first time he did that. He always calls the "Synth Horns" sound on the keys simply "Horns". He did that at a "God" rehearsal back in 84: "Doctor, horns!"

I've liked the track from the get go, but there's something about that string sample that's always bothered me. Not sure quite what it is though?
Oh and by the way this is my first post. Hi! ....Having said that I have been a regular visitor to the org for many years. Voyeur if you will! I guess you kinda have to if you want any genuine news out of the little man. So in some ways I feel like a veteran. One thing I know for sure. There are many hardcore fans that frequent this site, and others, but don't like posting on forums for whatever reason. It's just not some people's bag. So know that you're being watched! ....possibly by someone in assless pants!

don't u wish u were there? i was! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
