Ive seen it. pretty good...interviews with Shiela E/Levi a few music critics.....filmed around the time of the Lovesexy tour. Shows some clips of Lovesexy concert/rehearsals...afterparty jams..talks a bit about the importance of P's relationship w/his Dad and the effects it may have had on him or his music. Ends with P playing The Ladder on piano. Stand Up! Everybody, this is your life!

Also known as the Omnibus(British) documentary. An early peek into Paisley Park. Interviews of associates and critics. Originally aired in 1991. Prince plays Just My Imagination and Happy Birthday to Cat. Abbreviated video clips are also shown.
See it. Archive it. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I have seen the entire thing in parts.
This remeinded me about a thought I had the other day. Does anybody remember the show that was on VH1 about ten years ago called "Love 4 One Another?" It had a cute girl that was sort of stalking Prince. On it, Prince performed Days of Wild, Gold, and Rock and Roll is Alive. I believe that Nona Gaye was also on the show. I have it on tape somewhere, but I would have to dig it out along with my vcr in order to watch it. I abdicated the throne in Ithaca, but now I am...

I saw it and it was pretty good.
I would love to have been at that one aftershow they showed where Prince is doing his best Mick Jagger impersonation on "Miss You".

Good LAWD! that's some FUNKY mess!!! U Got the Look and 1999 in particular, the Miles section, the "why you big", and the rumble - made me see once mo! why can't nobody funk with the Purple Party Eater.
Okay, I'm back down to Earth now! I've only seen the Miles part of that one, but didn't know it was a whole video filmed. I can see how Prince likes jam sessions. Sweet!

u know the whole show exists somewhere....in the vault Catch up, please - the reason I commented so exuberantly was because it is somewhere out there but not hidden in the vault...at least any longer.

Well I am glad you are clear on that. Actually, I recently watched the entire thing in parts as well. Comcast cable has a server-based on-demand channel where you can watch shows at your convenience. For some reason they had Prince Of Paisley Park broken up into 5 short parts. Irritating, but that is how you had to watch it. Maybe that's what Darwin meant. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The only bad thing about the documentary is the horrid, over the top dramatic douche narrator. Definitely worth several viewings I think.

Does anybody know the status of PP? Is it open to public? Can you book it privately? I'm suprised Prince has not sold it off.
