Prince & Michael Jackson collaboration???

Now that Prince & MJ are both living in LA. Wouldn't it be cool if they finally collaborated on a single or two? I wonder what it would sound like?

This will never happen. MJ needs Prince more than Prince needs MJ. And Im sure Prince is happy with it being that way. (I know I am) Although, them 2 collaborating would be cool, but now it would just be a joke in this generations eyes. To the 80's people such as myself, it would be earth shattering! It would of course be a song that Prince writes and performs all the music to and he would most likely close the song with some funky or rocking guitar. He would see to it that MJ didnt overshadow him...not that he can musically.

because i think through drugs (pain killers) and major stress he doesn't have any talent left to write good music anymore.

I think they could do a remake like Mick and Bowie.

this would be a good one

"A Change is Gonna Come" Sam Cooke

MJ and Prince would tear this one up...

Well, first of all I don't see Prince selling off his assets left and right. I also don't see Michael having released a new album in seven years.

I think what people are trying to say is that he needs a comeback and some money, and if he collaborated with Prince then this would be a big earner. It's what people have wanted to see for years (for the 80s/90s generation anyways) so sales would be good. Prince would never do it though, as it would be pretty risky to his image and reputation.

erm it's an expression, meaning Prince could somehow pull Michael out of his career stagnation. To be honest I don’t think Prince would want to associate himself with someone that lets say has a sordid past. Shame about Mike though great singer and performer but that was like 16+ years ago.

Not needed. At this point in their careers, it'd be for no other reason than a cash grab of two icons past their prime.

Exactly. What's the point? What's more, as bad as some of Prince's music and pr moves have been, I don't see the need to add working with a pedophile to the resume.
No hard feelings.

Prince can't even pull himself out of his career stagnation. His albums are released & forgotten within a month or two.

After so many years of hoping for this collaboration, the thought has become boring, and I don't even care or want it anymore. lol

are you kidding me? when has mj ever needed princes help, sure he asked him to collaborate for the bad video, but that was mostly quincy jones idea. FACT: if mj wanted to do a world tour it would sell out, and on a much greater scale than prince could ever hope for. It's not that he can't do it it's that he won't do it. you people are so delusional i can't believe you actually think mj wants to be prince

I would bet most of you really believe he named his sons after prince, even though his family had the name first lol

I don't have any idea what Jackson's popularity is after all the pedophilia and bizarre details that came out of the ordeal but I'd be surprised if he could draw as strongly as he did in the 80's or even 90's. I could be wrong, I don't keep up with him, but I'd imagine at least in America he might have some problems selling out too many dates. Could he sell more seats than Prince? Possibly.
No hard feelings.

They were meant to collaborate on BAD - even had two meetings about it, including one with Quincy. When Prince heard the song, he was amused by the line "you butt is mine", commenting "I'm not going to be singing that to you, and you ain't singing that to me". When he finished listening to the demo, he declined telling Quincy "This is going to be a hit, you don't need me on it".

Prince then offered MJ a track he had written "Strange way of saying I love you", which MJ declined.

Personally I think at the time it would have been interesting - but the moment has past.

As I have said, if they were to work on original material then perhaps egos would get in the way. I think that would be the case with most mega artist collaborations. But if they were to remake a classic like Bowie & Jagger then both would be on the same page.
