You don't combine treasure (Prince) with trash (MJ).

lol lol lol Just kidding. I used to want to see them do a duet together but now I don't care. If it happens, it happens
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

MJ is always trying to outdo Prince, though. It would be awkward.
Prince had 50 folk on stage for his MTV performance of Get Off, and MJ turns around less than a year later and has 100 people on his stage.
Prince dates 16 year old girls and MJ fucks 12 year old boys.....allegedly.

It would just be a hot mess.

This will never happen. MJ needs Prince more than Prince needs MJ. And Im sure Prince is happy with it being that way. (I know I am) Although, them 2 collaborating would be cool, but now it would just be a joke in this generations eyes. To the 80's people such as myself, it would be earth shattering! It would of course be a song that Prince writes and performs all the music to and he would most likely close the song with some funky or rocking guitar. He would see to it that MJ didnt overshadow him...not that he can musically.

are you kidding me? when has mj ever needed princes help, sure he asked him to collaborate for the bad video, but that was mostly quincy jones idea. FACT: if mj wanted to do a world tour it would sell out, and on a much greater scale than prince could ever hope for. It's not that he can't do it it's that he won't do it. you people are so delusional i can't believe you actually think mj wants to be prince

Maybe you should think back and recall that Michael asked for Prince to your with him... Wonder why? Because MJ knows his career is close to over and he needs a miracle to pull him out of this mess. Prince is still current and very much in demand. NO..hes not selling millions of albums but he is still recording and selling none the less. MJ is a great dancer but He cant sing live, he
cant play instruments, he doesnt even write most of his lyrics..and NEWSFLASH, he doesnt come up with all his dance moves either. (and at almost 51, his dancing days are coming to a close) Yea, MJ could do a tour and make some money...but doubt itll be a world wide sell out.

Dude, are you familiar with Michael's work? and Michael never asked Prince to tour with him.

People think because people don't play instruments or don't write every song on their albums means they aren't talented. It's the music industry, people work in teams

Check Michael's work on The Jacksons' Epic albums, his solo albums, and work he did for other artists like Diana Ross, Greg Philliganes, Ralph Tresvant, his sisters, Blackstreet, and others

I am! lol

General Zod says "Michael Jackson sold more CD's than Prince today, as he did yesterday and the day before that. Is there no one who can challenge him?!"

I don't want a Prince/MJ collab, never have.

I would like to see the reaction on here if it did happen though. 'Fams' bumming MJ to the max would be funny to see.

I just don't get people saying Michael has always tried to outdo Prince. I love Prince and all, but Mike was around in the industry 10 years before Prince released For You. By the time Prince came on the scene, he had released 12 studio albums and 2 live albums with The Jackson 5 and Jacksons, he had released 4 solo albums, had his own television show, toured around the world, released a movie, and had gained creative control of his music in 1976 writing songs like Blues Away and That's What You Get For Being Polite,

And in terms of dancing, he collaborated with the best and the results were great. As a dancer, I know the best results always come from collaborating with others

There really wasn't a reason for him to try to outdo P

Elvis & The Beatles never collaborated on record, yet they had mutual respect for one another.

It's the same with Prince and Michael Jackson.

What's strange is that a lot of Prince fans out there wanna act like Prince and Michael have been involved in some kind of musical olympics since the '80s, which I think is pretty messed up.

Mind you, I used to be like that, too, but you know what? And this is the first time I've ever admitted this on any forum, but I've had Michael's autograph since 1987. AND he made it out to ME. This was no "let me sign this pillow and throw it out to my fans, this was a straight up, "To _____, love Michael Jackson."

Plus, you cannot deny the fact that he has written some DAMN great songs. cool

If Prince & Mike can get along, why the hell can't his fans?

Oh, and don't go tellin me he doesn't play any instruments, cuz the MJ fans on this board will prove your ass WRONG!

Hell, even I know he plays the piano and guitar.

Whatever their backgrounds and history, as someone who grew up in the eighties MJ and P did have a rivalry. How much was personal or media hype who knows, but it seems there was a definite mix of both - that much was obvious - similar to Sly and Arnie!! smile

Its a shame they could go beyond it, as it would have been awesome to see them on stage together, say at an aftershow, not because they would sound brilliant, but just because – shit MJ and P are on the same stage!!

P has got up on stage with Kravitz et al, so why not MJ – it aint about him MJ lacking talent. P must respect MJ musically, why wouldn’t he?
