ya know, come to think of it, the tempo and overall vibe of "i wish u heaven" and that of bowie's *song* "never let me down" aren't terribly dissimilar...

That said I think a Bowie / Prince collaboration (while extremely unlikely) would be awesome. A double-headling concert with the two of them appearing on each others songs like Bowie did with NIN would be insane.. Prince should look into how Bowie has handled himself as he's aged. He's still making relevant music and holding onto his dignity. He's not attempting to mimic the sounds and trends of artists like Hannah Montana and Brooke Hogan. Can you imagine Bowie singing that horrendous, self-parody in action of a song "Chocolate Box." What about Princ3 cov3ring that 3pic Bowi3 tun3 'Th3 Laughing Gnom3'? Sam 8) I believe he has worked with Sheena Easton more than anyone... I doubt Bowie was involved at all with this song. He was clearly an influence on P early on though.

I always thought "Anotherloverholenyohead" copied Bowie's video "Modern Love"...right down to the clothes.

i doubt that they ever did anything together. it would be cool but having that much esoteric-ness in the room could just about kill everyone attending.
i always thought that it would be awesome to have them do a song by the other. i wonder what they would do?

While I agree with the essence of what you're saying, we should remember that when Bowie was Prince's current age he too was trying to find himself with a "younger" sound (in Earthling... which I liked btw). 50's a rough age... its officially "old". I think it really scares most people and they sometimes want to resist that label and do so by embracing their youthfulness for one last time. Two very good points here.....it's a trend you see with alot of "stars" look at madonna with Justin Timberfake with beats from timberland... Da, Da, Da....Emancipation....Free..don't think I ain't..! London 21 Nights...Clap your hands...you know the rest..
James Brown & Michael Jackson RIP, your music still lives with us!

Two of my favourite artists...unfortunately we'd have to set the time machine
(and not, thank God, the Tin Machine ) to the 70s for Bowie and the 80s for Prince...as with all artists creative peaks have been passed and anything they'd do together now woud be a disappointment...

I can't see the two collaborating.
Interesting thing though...Cat Glover was asked to choreograph Bowie's Glass Spider Tour around the same time she hooked up with Prince. I think she made the right choice. My source? Cat Glover.

can you imagine the video, ala Dancing in the Streets Bowie did with JaggeR? Bowie wiggling his ass, Prince wiggling his ass...

He didn't perform but i'm certain he was there. P was in NYC during the 50th Birthday bash at MSG for Bowie. That was during the Emancipation Charity tour and he played Roseland, NYC - and shot video for "Sonebodys Somebody" and VH1 Chris Rock interview. I believe he visited the Bowie B-day but not sure? Prince attended both night of the Bowie shows in MPLS back around the time "Sign o the Times" film was being edited. He let's Bowie and crew get a sneak peek of SOTT-film. I would love to see Prince cover Bowie's "Fashion!" http://www.youtube.com/wa...-omLQCS8_s and a few songs of P's I'd like to see Bowie's take..
