Sounds like she always put on a hissy fit, probably because she wanted to be a singer/star.

I also think he didn't like her "Studio re-hab" because in later interviews, Prince has said things to the effect of "u can't stop the gift that God has given u" type of thing, I think that was a big dig at her.

We should be talking about music though, leave this matter dead & buried.

Maybe she just saw the Tommy/Pamela video and thought to herself, my God, that man is hung like a horse!

1) I never liked the hussy. We all know that it should have been me getting married to Prince. Anyway, there were the blurbs of Mayte and him having some raw moments in the night clubs.

2) Mayte seemed to have caused prince great grief. Check: I can't make you love me, Right back here in my arms, Somebody’s Somebody, Until you're in my arms again, Wasted Kisses. There is I hate you, I love you but don't trust you anymore, and Man o' War was the "you've broken my heart for the last time." The particular songs I've mention have entirely too much emotion to just "be a song".

3) Yet, I was devastated when I learned the baby had died. Prince spoke three-fold of how enraptured he was with becoming a father. You could see it in the Betcha by Golly Wow video. You just knew through his silence he was changed when the child died. Perhaps that is the true reason for the JW conversion. Perhaps he feels the death of the innocent was due to his "lustful" (for lack of a better term) ways.

Man, sometimes I forget how human he is...

On both parties questioning young Mayte's youthful parting with fellow models etc.

3. Religious Exploration
It seems that needed some closure to his recent tragedy. Jehovahs Witnesses have a theory about death and something called ressurection. This probably gave alot of hope and helped him cope. Mayte might not have agreed.

4. Question of Maturity
Around the time the two met Prince was somewhat a "bad boy" type. Once married he seemed to calm down a great deal (From clubbing to staying at home). He probably expected the same transistion from Mayte but unforunately that didn't happen.

If you've seen the press conference in NYC on May of 2000 it seems that Prince was shaken up about the breakup. When a journalist asked about it he seemed as if he was trying very hard to hold his composure and he started to stammer his words.

I feel sorry for both of them because it seems that the marriage was a horrible emotional rollercoaster from the beginning.
