Madhouse/MPLSound what do u think? Alright, been listening 2 those 2 albums (8 and 16) by Madhouse (Prince & Eric Leeds right?), and there both really funky, I mean I couldn't sit still for a minute!
My Q's is What do you guys think about that little sidestep in Prince's cariere in 1987? And is MPLSOUND going to be just like that? Richard.

"Disco Jellyfish" sounds a little like Madhouse - ie. the sparse instrumental funk sound... but other than that, I don't think there will be much in common between the two projects. From what we know so far, "Disco Jellyfish" is simply an instrumental of "Chocolate Box" - probably uploaded just as a means to have something "new" for the fans on the date that was promised. Do we know which songs will be on MPLSound?
Couldn't it be that ''Disco Jellyfish'' is just a b-side instrumental and the same goes for ''There will never B another Like Me''? I mean how do we know for sure those songs will be on MPLSound? Is there a track listing somewhere?

I'm not sure, but Prince was ahead of his time with both Madhouse 8, 16 and 24! I would like to hear what direction he would take in his jazz foray in 2009. I love N.E.W.S and Xpectations. [Edited 2/15/09 11:26am] True. However, we never know what Prince is up too. Perhaps, Eric could be in the mix with any jazz on the CD. Eric was an integral part in the sound for N.E.W.S. "A united state of mind will never be divided

I love the Madhouse Music I love that whole SOTT/Madhouse happening Some really exciting times in Uptown Actually if U listen to the Family's album instrumentals: Yes Susannah's Pajamas *Feline(unreleased) it's in the same vibe as the Madhouse music. And Eric Leads was the sax/flute (and bass)player on both I would love 2 hear this music performed in his shows again 2 me, Eric Leads & Eddie M.(Sheila E's sax player as well as sax on the Ladder, Temptation and the concert video 4 America) had the Prince vibe/sound. I know Eric is working with the Family 2.0 but I would love for him and Eddie to join/replace Prince's current horn section...

Sick is the word, they had the Purple vibe all over them The music was so vibrant and fresh. I couldn't believe, at the time, that Prince was actually performing jazz music. I mean, to jump from rock to jazz was a Miles Davis move. Prince was keeping the audience guessing. I just couldn't wait to get a new Prince album/CD. "A united state of mind will never be divided
