To answer the question. My Mom liked some of the songs off the Purple Rain album,and bought me the ATWIAD album,but my Dad never cared for him or his music.

I'm only 36, but my mom has always been unimpressed with Prince. She says he's OK, but she can't help but see Little Richard and James Brown in him, and to her they are untouchable.

My dad, on the other hand, was always genuinely impressed whenever I showed him a Prince performance or played a song, although he was never really moved to pay much attention to Prince on his own accord.

cant say that my parents like Prince, however when Prince was on Larry King, my dad called me to make sure I was watching. The best thing that I will always remember was that the last gift my Dad gave me was a Cd by Prince. My Pops gots some good taste.

oh yeah, I did raise my brothers kids,their first concert was Prince and you best believe my lil girl knew the words to P Control and what it meant.
So I guess that makes me the old parent LoL
