I sure do love that one too. Very very sad.

It is a game that is like bingo that you play with cards and boards that have the card faces on them intead of just numbers like bingo has--you can play all sorts of styles with it--four corners, x, blackout. You pick a board with several card faces on it, the take the deck of actual playuing cards and flip each one as the call and if your card-board has that (ex..ace of clubs) you cover that spot etc

You can do it liek poker too--if you end up with two of a kind to call it, or full house etc..and the real fun comes when "you play pokeno for money"..you line up cups labelled four corners, x-out etc, two of a kind etc...each hand, people place an ante in each cup..some cups get larger and larger since nobody choses to call them out when their boards are covered etc etc...oh yeah...back to where I was...you are brighta then the northern star now III...last night...

me too--and this is no bs either, like when folks may say "Oh I get worked up whenever" yadda ayadda yadda...each time I hear it my throat gets all messed up and I get that knot in it and my tummy. The song hurts. The delivery is so painful and passionate. Prince was in a vibe on this one.

One of my most favorite Prince jams. It definitely evokes pain and sadness. Prince flipped the script of Christmas carols and cheer into an ode of cherishable memories of a girlfriend who died on Christmas! I teared up when I first heard this song and I'm still sad when I listen to it. His singing and music were beautifully haunting!

Ha hahahaha exactly!Only Prince would come up with a Xmas song about death! Flipping the script on xmas carols LOL!But its still beautiful--thats the kicker...eff a ding dong xmas bells are ringing! He's saying .."now look yall..my true love that I grew up with died on xmas day ...shit like this happens! Wrote a song about it..wanna hear it? Here it go"... this song is one of the reasons I love Prine and am man enough to say it.

no seriously its supposed to be about a lover who has passed on 7 years since on Xmas day. The sad part is that it is a work of fiction that he spoke of in an 1994-95? aol foryum chat sad

Yep, cuz u know what? This song is always a reminder to me every year that there are lonely. sad people out there who have lost loved ones, and for them, Christmas is not as merry as it is for most folks. The moral of THAT story is: cherish your loved ones, at Christmas-time and ALL the time.

Bingo g money--I was going to say that. That Xmas isnt all happy happy joy for some-- loved ones etc die on Dec 25th etc and it is a painful holiday every year for them. Even without death, the holiday season is painful for some.
