frankly I don't see the point of this thread. Why would Prince have a personal interest in Rihanna? No reason as far as I could see. They never worked together.

One doesn't have to have a personal interest or even work/have worked with another to feel sympathetic toward their situation.

This is true, but it is so out of the blue random that the question would be asked. So what they were both at the same party? So was the janitor. Does the janitor know or meet Rhianna? Both irrelevant. As golfgolfmark says: WHO CARES? lol

Prince joked about looking like Rihanna at the benefit concert here in NYC in October. As for what happened, on Sunday, who knows what he thinks. It's just sad that it happened and lives are going to be changed forever with this, Chris Brown and Rihanna that is.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I'm sure both Rhianna and Chris Brown are in his prayers...only the wicked would be taking pleasure in a person getting a beatdown (at least for those that don't deserve to be served a can of whip ass)! No one knows yet if it really went down that way. Hopefully the truth will come out about what happened that night and the perpetraitor takes responsibility for their actions.

And less you all forget The Time performed with Rhianna Was it at the AMAS Last Year? I think Prince does have an opinion on this as does the TIME. Someone should try their reactions. Prince felt bad about Lisa Lopes and he feels bad about Amy Winehouse.

Actually, this is partially wrong. Actual domestic violence as it's happening is certainly not a joke. And the reinforcement and encouragement of it is not a joke. But domestic violence itself can be and is a joke in the sense that most good comedy comes from tragedy. Let's be honest, comedy based on the triumphs of humans just isn't as funny as comedy based on the pitfalls.

And what pisses me off more than the beating is that this "Chris Brown" character is even a celebrity at all.

Who the FUCK is he and where did he come from?

He just looks like a normal thug. Not even a thug, because a thug can have SOME appeal. He looks like some kid out of a JC Penny catalog.

And the name Chris Brown? Might as well be John Smith or Steve Johnson.

Come on.

Where's the style with our celebrities these days? Prince wouldn't be half the celebrity he is now if he dressed in some over-sized tee-shirt and jeans.

Get some star power boy!

Prince has more musical talent in his hair than this "artist" has in his whole body.

Well you know if ppl would stop portraying women as sex objects and flaunting

T n A as a means to sell products maybe women would still have dignity and

wouldn't be looked upon as the "weaker sex" and there for manipulated and

abused.....it starts with where we spend our money/time I think if we stop

supporting brands/ideas that demean women then collectively society can

once again be civil and respect eachother boxed
our love can heal the world

that comment made me laugh so hard my belly ached....but then i was like "aw hell nah" biggrin

anyway I'm sure Prince don't give a flying apple about the situation other than to dismiss it as young folk running wild and crumbling under fame. confused

By people you mean women? Women are 50% responsible for their lot in the world. Plenty chicks actively and agressively choose to be flaunted and portrayed as sex objects cuz it gets them attention, makes them feel empowered, makes them feel desireable and in certain situations gets them paid. Not saying its right but just that its not black and white and not a case of one group manipulating and abusing another. Shared responsibility when it comes to how many societies view women...and men for that matter.

I've thought about this.
As a Christian, Certain things don't bother me as an individual because I have rose above it, although, for the world's sake I agree that women being exploited is a worldwide problem.

This may sound ridiculous because it would never happen, but if it did for a decade, the world would change.
That is...for every nude picture of a woman, have her escorted by a nude man...Make every strip joint co-ed.
If couples had to escort eachother in every area where women are exploited...Society would change....and it would eventually throw out nude exploitation.
Nudity isn't a bad thing for a mature person, but it doesn't put emphasis on the spirit of a person.
Just imagine if it were so...How life would be different.
If a man's favorite playboy bunny had a playgirl stud next to her...Love may become more of an issue than superficiality.
That kind of point would be too tough for a man to handle, but women would breeze right through it. cool
