Jukebox a classic!

I recently had a chance to listen to alot of unreleased material from Prince. One song that jumped out at me was Jukebox. It sounded like the Prince I miss. What era is this song from? It is an older song? I could not tell. So I thought to ask those in the know about this tight track.

I was just going through some old hard drives and found this nugget. It's from a 2001 internet release.

Anyone know if the 2002 release of Madrid 2 Chicago is missing a couple of seconds at the beginning of the song, or do I just have a gimp copy?

I had the same experience with "Do Yourself A Favour", barely heard this song a few weeks ago. Sounds early eighties.

It amazes me what some people will give Prince a pass for, even more so when mediocre stuff like this is inexplicably considered a 'classic'.

Do Yourself A Favour is from 1981, it is a remake of a Pepe Willie song from 1977. Now that is a classic.

Coo, thanks, just heard the jesse johnson version. Sounds good, a little slower but sound quality a lot better than prince's. I like prince's version better though. razz. Did Pepe Willie have a version also, just read a little bout him too, I didn't know this guy helped prince early in career.
