Wow, the amount of people upset that the dude's throwing a party is pretty out of control. Is it possible that he could plan a tour, and still throw a party? Or, is it possible, that this is what he enjoys in his free time and this is his social life, and it has nothing to do with pleasing his fans?

I mean, maybe some of you like going to the beach or playing poker in your free time. Should people bitch and whine about that?

Wow, the sense of entitlement.

(Meanwhile, I just learned that an acquaintance of mine was invited to last week's post-Grammy show, and DIDN'T GO because it was too big of a hassle to find a babysitter. Wow, I'd be dropping my kid off on doorsteps if I got that call. wink )

U have a valid point here, and I agree.

HOWEVER, I can easily understand why folks here get upset over this...

The only news we R getting about Prince is his exclusive private parties. This is at a time when there is a HUGE amount of anticipation 4 new albums.

Even I'm getting sick of it, and I have a fairly open view.

I just think that there's been so much news of Prince's celebrity hob-nobbing, and folks R simply hungry 4 new music, live music, or real news.

Peace.

It's kinda hard reading about a party that you're so utterly not invited to.

Feels a little like being left off the "cool" list.

BUT

This is not high school, so hope it's a wonderful evening! With Prince providing the music, I'm sure it will be.

He's been living in L.A. off and on for 30 years.

Prince has been throwing these parties for years.

It's just that the media is just now reporting on it.

All stars have to go to LA ...why would he not have a party afterwork...I do lol

Limit it to a few 100 people and psychology says they will hype it as the best show ever. So then you have 100s of celebrities in the mags saying you are the best artist. And the shallow society follows everything the celebs do.

A celeb partying with other celebs...
never heard of that one before.

Yall just jealous.

Heck if any of you got a purple ticket invite to one of his celeb house parties... you'ld be like 'fuck all yall'... and be posting the next day name dropping your ass off... making the rest of us jealous.

Prince is a celeb.. its what celebs do. He isn't the only one throwing parties for his celeb friends all the time. He just throws some of the best ones and they get press because of that.

That is a problem with America..fascination with celebs. Hell when the Superbowl was here in Tampa. P.Diddy was getting $300 for entry to his party!! Celebrities are paid to make appearances at the parties, bars..etc. And all the wannabees pay big $$$ to go to these parties and rub elbows with the celebrites that are being paid to be at the party! I'm not a dumb ass and know that Donald Trump, Prince or P.Diddy don't give a shit to know me.

And I'm not a dumb ass that pays big $$$ to meet a celebrity. Because when someone asks you: So how much did you pay to meet them?? You are a loser when you answer that you paid $300-$500 or higher to hangout with some celebrity.

Even if this party was free it wouldn't be the biggest thrill in life in the end for most.

What are you expecting a fan site with info directly from Prince? We would be ungreatful to believe that would happen if we even paid $77 a year.
