Stars Behaving Badly Prince Named

http://entertainment.uk.m...id=6747611

eek
Prince
Prince detests having his picture taken, so much so that he banned cameras from being taken into his string of shows at London’s 02 Arena. And, so legend has it, paranoid Prince doesn’t even like people looking him in the eye! When he appeared on Top Of The Pops a few years back, BBC staff were ordered to face the wall as the purple pop star walked past – a bizarre ritual that is replayed across the world whenever Prince makes personal appearances. We might be able to forgive Prince’s eccentricities but all you other celebrities – mind your manners!

Now question to the purple ticket winners were you ordered up against the walls lol

I honestly think this whole thing is just blown WAAYYY out of
perportion..

I have seen Prince at Paisley Park SEVERAL times.. not on stage

and at Glam Slam Up stair at Erotic City.. I have looked him in the
eye and given him a big smile.. and all he does is smile back.
(and one time he smiled and winked)

I know he doesn't like camera's.. but ALOT Of artists don't want
camera's being used at their shows.. and one of the BIG reasons
is .. its annoying..... think of standing up there with
flashes hitting you for 2 hours.... NOT FUN... very distracting too
and some of lights. if they hit your eyes just right will
kinda blind you for a few seconds..

Think about if you were him. Would you want thousands looking you in the eye? I remember at the Rio in Vegas, the staff at Starbucks told me they were also told not to look him in the eye if he were to walk through the casino. Kinda cool if you ask me. He is bad ass.

Lets see, your fans shell out tons of money to listen to your music and watch you perform and join your whack ass internet music clubs and they are not supposed to look you in the eye ( which my mom always said was a sign of respect) as you walk by? Who is he....Medusa?? I think celebs feel themselves way too much. Which, fortunately is why the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Teach em all some humility! spank biggrin If I have the misfortune of serving Princey a skinny vanilla latte (not of my own secretion) then he damn well better look me in the eye while he's handing over that $3.50! falloff

OK...

Ummm... for what its worth... most of that "don't look him in the eyes" bull... is just that... bull. I know too many 'normal' fans who have been around Prince, met Prince... even mingled with Prince... and they will all tell you don't beleive the media hype.

Like most of us... he doesn't like being 'stared' at. Nor does he want cameras flashing in his face at every turn he makes. and he does have a tendency to look down and/or away if 'he' is uncomfortable in a situation. The media always looking for something to say... takes things like that and sensationalize them because it adds to the 'eccentricity' of what and who Prince is to the general public.

Amen to that, I think most of us would not enjoy being stared at, me included. Prince handles the media extremely well for all the pressure that he has to face everytime he takes a step outside his door. The reports from the orgers that were able to be at his house, only prove the media ALL wrong about his persona, he is just a regular normal guy. The only mystic that exist about Prince is what people make up about him...

Well Im no fan of the media, in general cuz they do twist shit up, but I must say...all the hype around P, much is of his own design. I think while the stories of P not wanting to be directly looked at are probably a tad questionable...I still think he's a bit DIVO and therefore there is some truth in them. I've heard the same said about Julia Roberts and JLo. I still say celebs, most anyways, feel themselves too much and that arrogance results in a lot of the unfortunate drama that surrounds them. disbelief
You get what you give so to speak. But good looking out you guys. I luv P too but Im still not tolerating an order to look away. falloff It could be his peeps disseminating that mess too. I met a certain famous boxer in Vegas some time ago and his peeps were surrounding him like flies on doo doo actually telling folks in the club to not look at him. Later he mingled with us and it was all good. biggrin

I made eye contact with him twice when he was in Seattle during rehearsal, and I sang with him for a very short moment during the ONA tour. I wasn't able to hit the high notes during Adore...he stopped singing and laughed cause my voice cracked...He just gave me a big smile and started singing again.

No that is jacked up. It is not "bad ass" to order people not to look you in the eye. Thank goodness I don't believe that about Prince.

I agree. I have encountered Prince on two separate occasions and did not get the impression that he didn't want me looking him in the eye.

I've never met Senior PurplePants, but a friend of mine who's not a fan has. He said Prince does seem a bit shy, but generally came off as a nice guy. He even had a brief convo with him, and not once was he ordered not to look him in the eye. lol

Prince does a lot of nutty things, but I think it's safe to say this one at least can be chalked up to media hype. thumbs up!

Though, not looking him in the eye might be a safety measure for some people, a la Jamie Foxx....lurking

But Day...you have to admit...it comes with the territory. If you don't wanna get burned then don't become a fireman. I actually think Prince digs it some of the time and hates it other times. He just moody. wink
