Most so-called Christians that I know would disagree with any type of acknowledgement in the Bible towards more esoteric teachings. In fact, I would be termed heretical more than likely. However, if one reads Revelation of the Bible, there are many points of reference there for more esoteric teachings. For example Revelation 1:10 John says "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet," "I was in the Spirit..." means that one is in a deeper state of consciousness. "....a trumpet" each chakra has a sound that is associated with it. "...heard behind me" would be an inner sound. You mean he farted?

Then again, maybe he's gotten fat and doesn't want to show himself! - I liked that. I am tired of those heavy make up pics with him pouting. On the other hand, I think the cover art is too photoshopped and ´new age´ for my taste, but it´s better than lots of his previous album covers.

I'm not directing my opinion at any particular individual (I respect all my fellow Orgers), but it just seems to me that before Prince can even release something there's an entire mob of folks that have already trashed it. How hard is it to just enjoy something for what it is?
I thought the whole point of forums was to vent your opinions. Prince will do what he wants regardless, but surely folks can express their opinion on something without it being a constant lovefest Absolutely. I expressed mine, and you've expressed yours.

If John had gotten behind me the other night he'd have heard ungodly trumpets. Ungodly smells too.
It would seem that I picked up the wrong book as a child. Instead of believing in an all-powerful almighty god that created everything for no particular reason I found myself getting a stiffy over Jessie and fearful for The Saucepan Man's well-being. Nearly shit me pants when I got Stephen King's Salem's Lot from the library at about ten years of age.

I could be wrong, but I think his ex wife painted it. At least that is what I had heard. And don't ask where...cause I seriously can't recall. But I wouldn't have even remembered it if I didn't think their info wasn't legit.

this is the one i was talking about a few posts up. i thought this would be a great cover for the MPLSOUND album. the back cover could be a similar styled graphic of the minneapolis skyline with the tracklist above it. this one and the backdrop at the leno gig where he did "turn me loose" would make a great couple of album covers. This, coupled with "Planet Earth" sort of leads me to believe Prince fancies himself some sort of super-hero.
He also has his own symbol and light up boots. Hopefully he'll incorporate a cape into his wardrobe in the near future.

I really like it it's very... Cosmic!
I actually quite like that its showing the lower half of his face as opposed to his eyes (which are stunningly gorgeous ) Can't be any worse than Planet Earth or the Come album, both of which were quite frankly embarassing! I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

IstenSzek said: nice cover, but they could have slicked it up a bit and pulled it
a lot tighter than simply a close up of the website with a font. 1. take off the pyramid on the left, it unbalances the whole picture 2. stretch the mpls skyline to be the entire backdrop left and right 3. write the name of the album in the same font as the "prince" font but smaller and do it so that it fits under his name from side 2 side. 4. ditch the purple 3 in the albumname I agree..it's nice but that way it would look better

langebleu said: setyrmindphree said: What's the story behind the TRC album? Did he have that painting commissioned or did he see and put it on the album cover? Uptown Magazine #52 Interview with C'Babi Bayoc by Lela Jefferson (excerpt) Q. Do you know how Prince became aware of your work? A. The first time Prince was introduced to my work, it was by great chance. He had his food co-op of which I do not know the name donate some groceries to a community center that was also an art center called The Dignity House. The two women that were working the event videotaped their function, as well as the art on the walls. It was my work and the work of another local artist named Daniel Hodges. They took the tape back to Prince and he picked out the work he liked. And then his people called me the day my daughter was born (October 20th 2000) and said that he wanted to see some samples. And one of the pieces he chose was "The Reine Keis Quintet" Q. Was his use of "The Reine Keis Quintet" as the cover art for The Rainbow Children a contractual one or an agreement? And does he retain full reprint copyrights to it for promotional purpose and distribution? A. We did use a cut-to-the-chase contract. But I cannot disclose the contents of the agreement. . Some might be interested to know that copies of the image of Prince later produced by C'Babi Bayoc, and used as part of The Rainbow Children artwork can be purchased (limited edition giclee, signed and numbered) from his website: http://www.blackartdepot....bayoc3.htm [Edited 2/2/09 23:51pm] Cool! Thanks for the information. I always wondered about that cover.
