I don't think accepting that Prince is going to do exactly as he pleases - regardless of whether any of us approves - is evidence of having been brainwashed.

On the contrary, I think pissing and moaning about what a musician none of us knows personally does or doesn't do is just a wee bit childish.

Let me S P E L L it out: Prince will deliver his music where, when and as he wishes - regardless of what you "require" or can do without.

Ok...chiming in...I think Prince is a flighty, disorganized, extremely talented man of 50 years who may be suffering from a form of Alzheimers because he obviously forgot that he has done the whole pay me money and i give you access thing...took our money and then ran like a charlatan! Oh, now he is gonna do it again cause...he seems to have forgotten... lol lol lol

P.S. I am fighting with myself to figure out if I want to be the victim of his manipulation again...yes he is talented, but there are sooooo many more people in this world who are also that do not try to take advantage of my admiration!

well the way i feel about it is like this: I love Prince as a musical artist and I will always buy whatever he releases. If he is the kind of artist I love in that way, I am always willing to go for the ride and see what he has to offer.
Having said that, I also have the choice to follow along if I want.

What I don't get is all the cryptic shit. What's the cliff have to do with anything. it's an ugly front page.
the 3121 website was much clearer and to the point. let's hope that this one will be too.

naw... most of my grown ass friends and myself like the cryptic art and layers of interaction... just the music is boring! I prefer a multi-layered complex presentation of a theme or vibe.

Maybe the 3 is cryptic jony? wink

3 from the Bible denotes emphasis and also indicates intensity.

THE MUSIC!

look around here for a while.

you'll find more than a few.

Didn't read the thread, but, yes, it is often VERY frustrating to be a fan - and often more work than it should be. I think Kevin Smith summed it up best in "An Evening With Kevin Smith" when he told that story about meeting Prince, how strangely the whole thing went down, and describing what Prince's assistant told him at the time about how "he doesn't understand that you can't get a camel at 3 in the morning in Minneapolis".

Prince has lived in PrinceWorld® for so long, almost from the time he was a kid, and I think hasn't got the first clue in the world what hard-working, non-famous, middle class people who aren't rock stars and appreciate music even do on a daily basis - or even how they live. I think he's generally past the point of caring...if he ever did at all.

i think prince knows that his older fans will be loyal and always buy his records no matter what, that why he couldnt give a rats about what they think. his newer music is clearly designed and made for a much younger market, he is trying to build up a younger fan base - I actually think this will backfire on him, but lets see what happens.

Agree with the original post.

All the "animations" will be nice the first couple of times... then it'll be boring... then annoying. Stitting there wating while the by now dull animation you've seen 15 times, loads and plays...again

There is nothing worse in webland than having to randomly click, and move the mouse around to find A) something. B) the thing you're actually looking for.

Hopefully there will be some kind of HTML option... altho Prince seems to like making people jump through hoops, so probably not.

I am totally with Jonylawson on this …. I’ve been a fan for 25+ years … I was at the 1980’s tours etc, but it’s all really wearing thin now … The general quality and over-hype of the music over the last 5+ years, and now another membership style puzzle website on the way … It’s pretty lame to say the least.

Is it not obvious ?…. Just have a website with a regularly updated news page, photo’s page, access to some live footage, album downloads to buy and rare old songs previously bootlegged available to buy. (and I don’t mean songs by Tamar and Kirky J)

Those of you who think that Prince is appealing to the younger generation with the new tunes and websites these days are really living in a dream world.

prince can do nothing right for u people. Why u even bother is the strange part. Folks don't like the music, don't like the website, don't like the way he promtes his career, don't like who he associates with, don't like his religion, don't like the lyrics. Do some of u like anything at all lol?

If you fools weren't so damn obessesed with prince then every little thing he does or doesn't do would not even effect u.

... thus says the guy with the Dalek.

I'm not mad at you... but you do realize that anyone in the know would consider it a strange irony for a fan of a show like DOCTOR WHO.. to make comments on what is 'grown'...? One of the core concepts of the show has always been to embrace what is new... what is different... and approach it with a childlike wonderment and curiosity.

And I'm not even going to discuss the irony of making any statements concerning internet behavior while having amassed over 5000 post on a message board.

I'm just sayin'...
