Springsteen calls exclusive Wal-Mart distribution deal "mistake"

Bruce Springsteen is regretting a deal he made with Wal-Mart that sounds similar to the "big box" deal Prince is reportedly shoring up:

springsteen called it a mistake because he obviously sold out. i don't
think prince would see anything he ever did as selling out, or against
his beliefs. he makes up his rules as he goes along and whatever he's
said or done in the past which contradicts that is carefully swept up
under the carpet.

springsteen did a stupid thing and he knows it. at least he owned up to
it and said it was a mistake.

the only reason the deal with the big box retailer might be delayed or
sidetracked is because prince didn't get out of it what he wanted, not
because prince had second thoughts about being associated with whatever
firm because they had a bad rep with the union.

Oh, please. rolleyes Springsteen apologized because, as IstenSzek said, he sold out. But more than that, he knew all his uber-liberal, PC fans would get their undies in a twist about having to actually go into a Walmart (oh, the horror!)...so he had to pony up with an apology that's more about "sorry I got caught" than "sorry I did took the money and ran."

He's just trying to hang a lantern on his problem before the Super Bowl so people talk about his performance, rather than what a sell-out he is.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I'm sure that Prince is going to go with Best Buy. He released product on their Redline label, they sell a buttload of his back WB catalog and his co-op releases are always well stocked.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

True lol

Prince sold the hell out when he went on American Idol and
did his lackluster performance which I felt didn't even
touch what the contestants could do vocally lol
And it didn't even help his bump in sales lol
Oh, such a price disbelief
It wouldn't have been so bad if he didn't hate the
very show he appeared on lol

As far as this thread, is it about Springsteen or Prince?
It could be in the wrong forum, even if you pulled the
prince angle in for relevancy sake.

Prince regrets most every distribution deal he makes, it seems. I don't expect that this one will be different.

Or it could be that it was a sincere apology.

Regardless, the most fascinating thing is not liberals who dislike Walmart, the most fascinating thing is those who defend Walmart.

[Here's a thread for the Springsteen story: http://prince.org/msg/8/296340 Thanks! - Mars23]
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.
