With all the talk re the Italian plagairism case and the Rihanna song, how about this one. It has been played on Triple J in Australia for a number of months but I only found out today that Prince may not be credited although the artist lists Prince as an influence.

I won't even list which riff and from which song it has been lifted as any Prince listener with a catalogue that goes well back will know immediately which song it is.


I found another of Miami Horror's songs on youtube that I had forgotten about. I may have jumped the gun on Prince not getting any credits. I got that from a 3rd party blog and not officially. If anyone has the EP then it would be interesting if you can find out if there are any credits.

If anyone knows where to check the credits online then the song is Summerfest 86 by Miami Horror.

And whilst you are at it check out the credits on Miami Horror-Don't Be On With Her. That will be interesting too-check it out. Not as good as Summerfest though.

it is a great song and is likely to get into Triple J's Hottest 100 songs from 2008 and be fairly high up (list comes out on Jan 26th).

Just a shame Prince isn't getting credit.

"Don't Be On With Her" is hot, and hilarious. It reminds me of parodies of artists on shows like MadTV when they slightly change the person's song by altering the notes in the melody in order to avoid copyright infringement. LOL.
