If you could save just one!

Hi Everyone,

Lie back and imagine your sailing on the "MV Prince ship" somewhere remote, hot and beautiful, with the whole of your Prince records. How nice does that sound (unless you get sea sick ill) Suddenly, the captain tells you to abandon ship as your sinking! (Bare with me on this folks!). Nearby is a desert island which you can easily swim to, which has everything you need to survive for months, plus (and how odd is this) a record/cd player!

If you could only save 1 x prince album, what would it be and why?

For me it would be 1999....it was the first prince album I ever listened to in one sitting. It's what got me hooked on him. It would remind me very much of friends and family, as I constantly played it to the point where even my Dad hummed along to 1999! It has tracks which I could dance to which would be great on the island as a way of keeping fit and keeping my energy levels up.

And when I finally got rescued, I would play 1999 as loud as possible and enjoy being found!!!!

I'd love to hear what album you'd save and why!

Thank you in advance for posting.

biggrin

"For You." Because It's my favorite album of all time. I wish I could get more into why...but that would be like writing a novel about loving Prince. cool

Yikes!!!
This is truly a tough one!
I guess I would have to go with Prince Hits/B-Sides cd 3.
I really think one of my favorite songs of all time that I would not want to be without is Power Fantastic. Plus that album has God, 4 the Tears in your eyes, She's always in my Hair....AH, you guys know what is on there!
Still, hard decision because I would have withdrawals going without The Question of U, and even the classic "When Doves Cry" which is one of my all time favs.
I am already stressing and not even in the water!!!
*chuckles*

my entire collection would be on my mp3 player so there would be no need
to choose. just a need for a plastic ziplock bag.

I would bring Crystal Ball, and it is not even close to being my favorite album. I do love it, but my reason for choosing it is that it contains a vast amount of music. The only album comparable is Emancipation, but I like Crystal Ball a lot better. Plus, I think the Hits/B-Sides is technically 3 albums.

Very slick there

Beyond the IPOD.
I would say 1999.
Double album and it saved me on the island of being 14 year old minority in a small town.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Parade - because it's the most joyful, forget-your-troubles album of all. It sounds like summer on the Riviera - sun on your cheeks, breeze in your hair.

Luscious. cool

Instead of the boat analogy, I should have said we were all on "Seduction 747"
and we could have used our seats as a "Floatation Device"
wink Thanks to everyone for responding to my silliness.
