unlikely yet potentially great collaborations????

Last Week I got the ''Live at the Paradiso dvd'' which is terrific, a very powerful performance. It kind of got me into Live, a band in a field of music I'm not very familiar with. It also got me searching youTube and I found this clip:

http://www.youtube.com/wa...NV_fEKbSzs

Absolutely fantastic and it got me thinking of the Creep cover Prince did at Coachella... Somehow (I dont exactly know why, maybe it's the bass-heavy performance?) it seems as if a collaboration between Prince an dLive could have a terrific outcome....Very unlikely to happen though; Prince appears to detest these alternative rockers....

any more of these collaborations come to mind?

prince and david bowie. truly great things would come of it.

and im sure we all know a collaboration which would ignite the world - prince and MJ - everyone in the world would buy a copy of them two together atleast 3 times.
Wouldn't you love to love me?

you had me me with Prince & Bowie for certain, but I have absolutely no interest in a Prince / MJ collab.

I'll go with Prince and D'Angelo in the hopes that the concept actually comes to fruition, and for my personal abstract choice Prince and Ville Valo.

Prince and Annie Lennox.

I still dream that she might one day lend that voice to a version of "Nothing Compares 2 U".

I always thought a true collaboration of Prince and Herbie Hancock would be interesting.

Funny but my dream is to see Prince collaborate with Bowie and/or Springsteen.

I want a Prince album produced by The Knife.
And one by Björk.

Ooh, and I want him to do a straight up gospel album produced by Rick Rubin. One where he covers Mahalia Jackson's Walk Over Gods Heaven.

These two really and truly need to happen. They're both mad geniuses -one can only imagine what magic their powers combined could create.

That would be amazing, but unless they stop annoying each other it'll never happen. lol

--Prince and Beck really should work together.
--Jerry Lee Lewis! Princey's guitar and Jerry's piano? Imagine!
--Ditto that for Little Richard
--I know he already wrote a song for her that she chose not to use, but a Prince/Joni Mitchell collabo has some serious potential for greatness

And though these are completely impossible (sadly sad ) Her Highness and Zappa working together would have been cool, or Prince perhaps doing guitar work for Janis Joplin.

And I'm not sure the music world will ever forgive Prince his squandering of his opportunities to really work with Miles Davis or Bob Marley. Prince, you really are a dumb tit for this. neutral

that would absolutely kill. Annie, for me, has one of the greatest female voices around; the intensity of her singing that would be too much.

Prince and Sade would make for a truly sensual album or maybe Jill Scott with some of her spoken word.

I think a collab with Me'shell Ndegeocello could yield amazing results.

I've dreamed about her doing that song for YEARS. I've never been able to put into words exactly why I think she's so suited for it...INTENSITY is right!

I dunno how feasible that is though. Jill doesn't strike me as someone who takes orders easily, and we all know what a tight grip Prince thinks he should take when he works with women. rolleyes

If he's going to do work with another woman IMO he needs someone he views as his superior to keep him humble and in his place.

I think this is a great shout! Annie Lennox is brilliant. Perfect for that song!

I'd also love to see Prince with Jools Holland on the Jools Holland show!
Annie singing backing vocals with David Bowie.

That would be something!

Maybe Jack White
Might bring the rawness of old, that we love back in the day.
Some of prince's new sounds are just a bit clean.
They need to be a bit raw to grip your ear.

Jack White and Prince together would be some crazy, weird magic.

Hey, Prince! (because we all know you've got employees lurking on these boards) take a look at some of these dream collabos and see if any strike your fancy. Done properly (equal contributions, natch) we'd all be in love with you for it.
